Story
Siberian Husky 4 years old Male 61 pounds Kids · 6+ Dogs · No Cats · No What My Friends Say About Me: I’m a high-energy Husky with enough zest to keep up with even the busiest of schedules. I’m always ready for action—whether it’s running, playing fetch, or exploring new places, I’m your go-to adventure buddy! I’m a total people person and love spending time with my humans, getting all the attention and affection I can. The Type of Home I’m Looking For: I prefer to be the only dog in the household since I’m not a big fan of sharing my space with other canines. I could use some positive reinforcement training to help channel my energy and learn new tricks! My adoption fee is $240 and includes neuter, microchip & registration, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Story
Freckles is ready to talk, shop, ride and walk his way right into your heart. If you are looking for a striking dog with a presence that is both calm and undeniable, Freckles is worth getting to know. A favorite among volunteers who treat the dogs to days out and long car rides, he is such good enjoyable company we had to encourage a few people to consider taking a new dog out. We can’t blame him for giving the good kisses, being a good shopping partner, wanting to talk while you drive, and being friendly enough that strangers are welcome to say hello. There just isn’t enough Freckles to go around. Take a look and see why he is so adored https://youtu.be/x4RRMMpwTMw Estimated to be right around 3.5 years old and weighing in at an impressive 82 lbs, we believe he may be some beautiful mix of Husky/Pittie/Australian Shepherd. Of course, given it is rescue we cannot offer any guarantees on age or breed but please share DNA results when you get them! We love knowing right along side you what your rescue special is. Freckles’ dream home is a Dixie Chicks Song- wide open spaces. This boy loves being outside, maybe he has some Great Pyrenees in him, that coat of his is impressive, but he loves the breeze, the smells, the sun… he is truly a dog that loves being outside. Farm dog life feels like the happy ending he would write into the story. But he isn’t all space and fresh air, he loves people and socializing comes easy for him. He will happily snuggle in on the couch at the end of the day but by day, he is all yours, whether you want to drive around running errands or do some winter-prep gardening. His companionship level is set to 10. Easy-going, low-maintenance but always, undeniably, there for you. Plus, he is great with kids! Whether you have your own, grandbabys or neighborhood visitors- Freckles will awe them with his size and soft, patient approach. Do you know the biggest reason we think he has some Husky in his family tree? He loves to talk about it! So no apartments for him unless you really want to get to know your neighbors. Car rides with the windows down is his version of heaven and even if I didn’t tell you, he would. It’s cute in the way watching undeniable joy is hard to be mad about. As much as Freckles loves to be out an about, he is a big boy so handling a big dog needs to be familiar if you plan on taking him out and about often. Truthfully, he doesn’t need it but he corrects easily and is treat motivated which primes him perfectly for teaching and training as you see fit for your lifestyle. Also, brace yourself for his “love-lean!” This is when he is ready for a love sesh in the form of pets- here he comes- first step is he is going to lean his love-seeking self right into you. Second step is the eyes that tell you- “it is time and I am ready!” It feels good because there is no denying the love. So if you want to head into the cold weather equipped with the best heated blanket available, Freckles is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind gentleman. He is ready to be a steady-forever-shotgun-rider and the best yes-man you’ve ever known. Adopt Freckles, as much as our volunteers and staff will miss him, we will be happy to see him join you and your beautiful life.  Apply today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/65f08d5278df96ffb0076209 Questions? Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. Story
Hyde is a calm and sweet boy, with so much love to give. He’s a soft, sweet, gentle innocent puppy boy with a love for water, kids, and treats. He would make an amazing family dog, or a perfect companion dog for anyone looking to be adored. We think Hyde is a Labrador, Husky mix of some sort. He is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. We estimate his age to be around 1 year old, and he’s so mellow for such a young age. Hyde currently weighs in at 48 pounds, and is fully aware that he still fits in the “lap dog” category. Fall in love with Hyde here: https://youtu.be/RJ0oRCqEU1c?si=Edvqa_4t1vDOrt3X Hyde can be a tiny bit shy when you first meet him, but he is quickly won over by soft voices and treats. Once Hyde trusts you, you have a friend for life. He has so much love to give in that guarded little heart of his, and will happily snuggle, give kisses and hug you. Hyde is an adoring boy- and children are no exception. He did great meeting a thirteen year old, and showed off his “sit” skills with her for treats! We believe that Hyde would do best in a home with children ten and up. Hyde is great with other dogs, he does well with dogs of all energy levels. We think Hyde would do best in a home with a doggy sibling to keep him company. Hyde is so good with other dogs that we routinely use him in behavior assessments here at the rescue. Hyde welcomes our new intake rescue dogs, teaching them that the rescue is a fun and safe place to be, while showing us humans the newbie dog’s canine social skills. By participating in these assessments, Hyde has saved many canine lives! He’s a doggy superhero! Hyde’s perfect home will have at least one loving human to keep him company, a couch to snuggle, and lots of treats to munch on. He would do well with doggy siblings, and we believe that they would help Hyde feel comfortable and confident in a new home. Hyde has also proven to do well with cats! He is gently curious but no chasing or trying to play with them. He could make a wonderful family dog! With any questions, please reach out to his adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Hyde with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Meet Ryder! He is currently 15 weeks old, and we think he may be a Husky/German Shepherd mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Ryder's video here: Ryder is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. He loves to play with his siblings and take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat - such is puppy life! Mama is a Husky so that explains this sweet boy's soft lush coat - you won't be able to stop petting him! This magnetic boy has all the charm (and rizz galore). Ryder looks like he's always smiling and we love his matching sunny attitude. We love it when he side-eyes us and smiles - talk about a heartthrob! Ryder loves to be pet and will relax his whole head into your palm, rewarding you with his happy smile and nudging or licking your hand when you stop (to remind you to start again, lol). This happy, charming fellow is guaranteed to put a smile on your face too! Ryder is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. His new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Elise is more confident and outgoing than her sister Gabrielle and LOVES to meet new dogs and new people. Out of all of her siblings, Elise is the most likely to give you the curious head tilt that we love so much, and it's absolutely charming when she does it! Elise is always ready with a smile and a few licks to encourage you while you are petting her and telling her how pretty she is (wink, wink). Story
Hello there! I'm Quavo, a 3-year-old American Husky with a zest for life and a whole lot of love to give. As a true Husky, I'm overflowing with energy and enthusiasm. Think zoomies in the yard, playful pounces, and maybe a bit of excited jumping (I'm working on that!). I'm also a curious guy, which sometimes leads to counter surfing adventures and a bit of a "mouthy" play style. Treats? Oh boy, I LOVE treats, maybe a little too much! I'm still learning my manners and could really use a family who understands my Husky quirks and is dedicated to helping me become the best boy I can be. If you're an active individual or family with a secure yard and a love for adventure, I might be the perfect furry companion for you! Just be prepared for lots of fun, some training, and a whole lot of Husky love. I should not live with cats due to my prey drive and would do best with older children. Come meet me and let's start this exciting journey together! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 50.25 Age: 3yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Introducing Spirit, a young husky with a heart full of fun and a boundless energy, is looking for a home where she can shine. 🌟 This playful pup loves a good snack, has an outgoing personality, and is always up for an adventure. Spirit is ready to embrace a new life filled with outdoor activities, fetch games, and plenty of zoomies. And while Spirit can enjoy dogs her own size, she does have a prey drive with small animals - including cats and small dogs - and thus is unable to share a home with them. An active family with a fenced yard would be her ideal match. Could you be the one to give Spirit the happy ending she deserves? Kenai is a handsome 9-month-old Husky full of energy and affection! He loves to play fetch, go for walks, and explore. Kenai is very social and enjoys the company of people, but he can be a bit sensitive about being handled. He's learning to be more comfortable with things like leashes, and would do best with a patient family who will give him the time and space he needs to settle in. Kenai is a smart boy who already knows basic commands like "sit". With a little understanding and a lot of love, Kenai will make a wonderful addition to an active family! If you think you can give Kenai the loving home he deserves, please consider adopting him! Story
My name is Anchovy🐟, and I'm a handsome Husky with a "work in progress" personality. Okay, okay, I admit it - I have some rough edges. I'm still learning the ropes when it comes to good manners, but I'm more than willing to try! I'm a super smart guy, so with some patience and positive reinforcement, I'm sure I can become a well-behaved gentleman. On the plus side, I'm incredibly enthusiastic, love to play, and have a ton of energy to burn. Long walks, hikes, or even just a good romp in the yard would make me one happy Husky! I'd probably do best in a home with experienced dog owners who can provide me with the structure and guidance I need. If you're up for the challenge and ready for a loving, albeit slightly mischievous, companion, come meet me today! 😉 Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 48 Age: 4yrs 0mths 1wks

Affection is my middle name—I thrive on cuddles and kisses from my favorite humans. Whether it’s a hike, a run, or just exploring the neighborhood, I’m ready to join you on all your adventures. The Type of Home I’m Looking For: I’m looking for a home where I can receive positive reinforcement training to help me learn and grow. Akita Mix 1 year old Male 66 pounds Kids · 8+ Dogs · Yes Cats · No What My Friends Say About Me: I’m a sweet and affectionate boy who absolutely loves people! I’ve got a lot of energy to burn! Whether it’s a game of fetch, chasing after a ball, or just running around the yard, I’m always up for some fun! I get along well with other dogs and love making new furry friends. The Type of Home I’m Looking For: I haven’t had any experience with cats, so I’m not sure how I’d react. For now, I think it’s best if I stick to my dog pals. I’m an energetic guy, so I’d do best with children over the age of 8 who can keep up with my playful nature. I could use some positive reinforcement training to help me become the best dog I can be. Rrrrruffff! I'm Kya! I'm a happy and smiley girl! I love people and I'm a very sweet girl. I can be a tiny bit anxious but with time I come out of my shell pretty easily! I'm a cattle dog mix, and I have some white, brown and black in my coat! I'm quite beautiful, and I smile often! I'm dog friendly, I currently go out with two other large female foster sisters and a foster brother! At first, I try to work and will to herd everyone. That's my job, so that's what I do! But,, I play and jump around once I know my duties have been completed! I'm potty and crate trained! My foster Mom lets me out in the yard (fenced in), and I get to play with others and do my business. When I'm all done, I go straight to my crate, where I'm fed and given water! I do like to play in the water too, sometimes I just stand in it. I'm a great adventure partner too, I love adventures! The only adventures I go on right now are to Home Depot, Marshall's, and my favorite...the drive thru at Starbucks! I get to get a pup cup every time! Watch how good I was at my last trip to Marshall's with my Foster Mom here: https://youtu.be/CJkoorJ859w?feature=shared I'm so happy that I'll be able to find my forever home soon. I would love to provide all the love and affection to someone or a whole family!
