Story
Everyone meet Max! He is a 3-year-old tricolor husky with gorgeous light blue eyes, a great smile and a little ear notch that makes him look like he always has a question. This big boy thinks he is a lap dog! As a true cuddle bug, he is way more interested in people than other dogs. He loves to play, specifically with squeaky toys and tug of war toys, so he can play with his human. He would be perfectly content to be the only husky in the home, though he is willing to get along with other dogs as long as they give him space when he asks for it. Now, when Melissa told me about how Max ended up with H3, I had to go hug all of my dogs and tell them that I would never do anything like that. See, Max here, ended up in a Texas holding pen as a stray. Where a dogs only hope is their owner coming forward to claim them or they get pulled by a rescue. If that doesn't happen, they are euthanized. Holding pens are not shelters, they don't do adoptions. That is bad enough, right? Well, for Max it gets worse. See, he was microchipped, and they were able to get in touch with his owner. Who didn't want to come get him. I am going to say that again, DIDN'T WANT TO COME GET HIM! Even though they knew that leaving him there was a death sentence. How can someone look at this face and leave him behind on purpose?! Thankfully, that wasn't the end of Max. Animal Lives Matter of East Texas promoted him, heavily, and we responded. Mike and Melissa drove down to pick him up as soon as they could. He was so skinny, definitely underweight for a dog his size! And turns out heartworm positive (because Texas) but he is currently undergoing treatments, with a retest coming soon. His health has improved immensely since coming to us and receiving regular feedings and treatment. So, now it is time to find this sweetie a real home. With someone who won't abandon him. Someone who will give him all of the treats and snacks he needs to keep his weight up. Someone to cuddle him and rub his belly. Apply to adopt today. Max is waiting for someone like you.

Story
Nobody puts Princess in the corner. Princess was rescued in August of 2023 from the Devore shelter in California. Just a week after she arrived, Melissa noticed that her eye was red and weepy. So, off to the vet she went. It turns out she had torn a section of her nictitating membrane (third eyelid) and needed surgery. No idea how it happened, but that's a husky for you. The vet warned us that her eye might not look 100% normal afterward but take a look at her now! Can you even tell she had surgery? Princess is a very sweet three-year-old girl. She definitely has a bit more energy than some of our other huskies, falling into the medium-high range, which means she would be the perfect adventure buddy! She also loves attention and is incredibly food motivated. Treats are a great way to win her over, and she is smart enough to know that too! Princess does well in all of the packs here at the rescue, but she will stand up for herself if she needs to. After a long day of adventures and playing with her new pack members, she would be happy to chill out and relax with you. After all, she needs her beauty sleep. Don't let just her beauty sway you; she has a goofy husky personality hiding under those big, serious blue eyes. We get glimpses of it from time to time, but Princess is sure to bring a smile to your face once she realizes that she is no longer halfway home. So, who is ready to adopt this wonderful Princess?
