We adopted Yoda, formerly known as Honda, from a family friend at 4 months old. He is now 9 months old and a phenomenal dog for someone who is at home. We both work very busy schedules and he’s in a huge stainless steel crate but he manages to escape and shred if left unattended. Fully crate trained to sleep inside at night. Husky’s are known for being escape artists which we knew, but we don’t have the time anymore or money to keep replacing items when he escapes while we’re at work. He loves children, toddler age included. He does jump quite a bit as a puppy would. He is a phenomenal dog and we would love to keep him if we could only get him to behave while nobody is home. He needs somewhere loving, with lots of toys. He is completely potty trained at nighttime in the crate and when outside of crate but when left unattended will pee. He isn’t fixed due to age and behind on shots. He does have his first few though, just time and behavior stopped us from having the money to keep giving

Cocoa has an adoption pending. Meet Sweet Cocoa!! Cocoa is 9 years old and weights 60 lbs. Cocoa is house-trained, and knows basic commands (sit, stay, down). Cocoa is smart and very sweet! She is a perfect house dog and can be left "home alone". Unfortunately, her owner had health issues and could no longer care for Cocoa. Now Cocoa is in a temporary foster home with two doggy pals while we search for her forever new home. Cocoa also lived with cats and is cat friendly. Cocoa loves everyone she meets both adults and kids. She loves car rides too. Cocoa needs to lose some weight but don't tell her we said that!;-) She is spayed, vaccinated and in very good health. Cocoa is a wonderful dog! If you are interested in Cocoa, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Cocoa would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Sahara is such a sweet girl. A little timid at first but quick to warm up to you. She loves squeekie toys and will fetch them all day long. She loves to cuddle. She is learning to walk in the leash, but it is all new and a little scarey for her. We have not seen her around children, but she sweet and children over 10 seems like might bw a match   This animal is current on all age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed/neutered or will go home with an already scheduled appointment. They have also been given flea prevention. Adoption fee is $275.00. Ziggy is a 5-year-2-month old Siberian Husky weighing 70 pounds. He came to the shelter due to his owner no longer being able to care for him. If you've never had a husky please do your homework before adopting one! Ziggy is friendly with everyone he meets. Treat motivated. Knows commands sit & shake. He loves to go on walks. His favorite toys here at the shelter are stuffed toys with squeakers. He absolutely loves to cuddle with people! Does well when being brushed. Rarely barks here at the shelter. Does well on car rides. Does not like visiting the veterinarian...at all! He doesn't know his own size so small children are not recommended. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!
