Story
Ziggy is a 4-year-11-month old Siberian Husky weighing 70 pounds. He came to the shelter due to his owner no longer being able to care for him. If you've never had a husky please do your homework before adopting one! Ziggy can be aloof when you first meet him. Time and attention will have him in your lap. He loves squeaky toys and plays well by himself. Is unsure with playing outside, tug or fetch are unknown to him. He is excited for walks but needs leash training and overall training in basic manners. He's very stubborn, (typical husky behavior)) knows commands but does what he pleases. Does well with strangers and car rides. Treat motivated & housebroken. Very fearful of veterinarian handling-sedation recommended. Due to his size, no small children, he will easily knock them over in his eagerness to play. His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!

Story
Riley is a very energetic dog that loves to go on walks and runs. She is 4 yrs old. She would be perfect for a single person or a family that is active. She knows most commands like sit, lay, shake (both paws), dance she spins in a circle and dance pretty. She knows to take treats nicely when you say take it pretty. She gets along with other animals but is very curious. She knows how to speak with treats as well. She is a great learner with treats. My wife has lost her job recently and I am currently in school so we are unable to afford to keep her as we will be moving soon as well. She has been a great family pet but unfortunately due to these circumstances where we are moving we cannot afford the food and regular check up bills. The apt we have to move to as well due to this change in life does not allow pets. She is loving and will always be there when a belly rub is involved.

Story
Words cannot describe how much we love Bowie! He is a once in a lifetime adventure partner- crate trained (comes with his Gunner crash test rated kennel that he loves), off leash trained (wonderful for hiking), e collar trained, loves cross country skiing (comes with harness), is great on car rides, and is responsive to commands (heel, sit, paw, place). Bowie will come with all supplies to make his transition a successful one! Bowie is 7 years old, and has a history of mild anxiety with some dogs. He has lived with other dogs for his whole life and has boarded and done doggy daycare. We were hopeful he would warm up to our son, but he is communicating with us that he is not comfortable with our new family dynamic. We are trying to make the safest decision for all family members, including Bowie. We would love to meet to make sure he is the right dog for you if he sounds like he could join your pack!

Story
Whiskey is a lovely animal. The reason we are looking to put her up for adoption is simply that she keeps escaping our yard. We have a tall fence, and a large back yard, however she finds ways to escape, and it is becoming to much for us to handle. She is great with our 4 children and 2 cats. We do not want to send her away, however she has become to difficult for us to keep her contained. She was a rescue, and has lived with us since January of 2024. If you are a household that loves a good puppy, and has more time to run and play with her, than she is the perfect dog. We will not give her away to someone we do not feel fits, as we do love her. Please contact me with any questions, and thank you very much, Patrick

Story
Miss Naomi. Siberian Husky. Possibly a hybrid. She has piercing hazel-blue eyes and unique facial features/markings. She is spunky and fun. Naomi has a neat personality, knows some commands, Loves snacks and belly rubs. When she connects with you she connects. She has been nothing but gentle and sweet with us at the shelter. Gets super excited when she sees us but can be leery of strangers. She has met other dogs and did well. She also met a cat at the vet and was non reactive (but she was very afraid and stressed at the vet so this may have caused her to be disconnected).Naomi is underweight. We are working on that at the shelter. She was found on 7/3/2023 with No collar, No ID, No Microchip in Westfield Township.Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt.
