Story
Hi! My name is Judge. I was surrendered to the shelter with my brother Jacoby by a backyard breeder at only 5 weeks old. I’m getting to be a big boy now and am ready to find my family. I am a typical puppy and don’t have an off switch. I can get very vocal but it's just because I have so much to say! I love to explore and get into things. I have had a great start at socialization and am very brave in new experiences. My favorite past time is digging holes and climbing on things. I am crate trained and am working very hard on learning my commands. I'm good at sharing my toys and even do good with the cat! My new family must understand my needs and what it will take to make me a happy, well adjusted adult. Daily vigorous exercise, and exposure to new things is a must. I'm going to be a big boy. Right now I’m all legs and ears, but that won’t last long. I am still young and working very hard my house training (so I may still have accidents). ADOPTION FEE: $350 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained) ADOPTER: Dog experience BIRTHDAY: 5/28/2024 FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment) DOG FRIENDLY: Yes DOGS IN HOME: Required CATS: Yes CHILDREN: Yes, 8 and over I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $350 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me! ***WE DO NOT HOLD DOGS. IF YOU ARE GOING ON VACATION OR ARE NOT YET READY TO PROCEED PLEASE APPLY WHEN YOU ARE.*** INQUIRIES: ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, www.miamivalleypitcrew.com. We do not adopt to individuals under the age of 25. DO NOT: USE THE PETFINDER INQUIRY/CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those and you will not receive a response. PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!

Story
Luna is very high energy and loves to run and run. She is great with my kids other than she does get very excited when we first get home and she jumps still trying to break her of this also is a little bit older and she digs holes to go under the fence, we love her however, we do not have the time due to a new job and going to school and she is in a crate a lot and she shouldn’t be due to how much energy she has. We are looking for a single person that is willing to take her on and has a yard for her to run.

Story
Meet Sasha, a 2.5 year old Siberian Husky. She loves her people and greets them with a waggy tail and sloppy kisses. Car rides are her favorite activity, and she will sit quietly in the seat gazing out the window as she dreams of running along-side the car!  Whenever there is a car involved, she is the first one in when the door opens! She likes to play with toys, but quickly will get bored with the activity unless you change it up. Long walks are always anticipated and she will practically put her own harness on. She is crate trained and can demonstrate the basic commands, although, she is a husky, so obeying the commands isn't always 100% because huskies are stubborn! Wrestling with her people is one of her favorite things. She typically isn't destructive except for items like remotes, pens, pencils, and earplugs that are lying around. This girl is an extremely picky eater. She does respond to treats, but they have to be Sasha-approved! She's been known to turn her nose up at food to try to get you to give her what she wants.  At bedtime, she goes straight to her crate to sleep, but also enjoys sleeping on a dog cot in her owner's room.   Sasha is in need of the perfect home that has no small children for the duration of her life. She is currently in a family with 3 children , the youngest being 8, and gets nervous when kids are around. There have been instances of nipping/biting out of anxiety and resource guarding. As of now, we do not know if she can be around other animal companions. She struggles with fear and will lash out if she is anxious. At 2.5 years old, this beautiful girl needs to find someone experienced with her breed. She needs to have a fenced in yard to keep wandering animals out of her space and to protect children that could be walking by.  Sasha could benefit from someone who will be home a lot and can commit to helping her with the anxiety.  Adoption app: https://halok9behavior.com/ ##2206205##

Story
Akira is a playful, 7 year old, Husky/Malamute/Pit mix. She is very smart and knows commands, healthy, spayed and up to date on shots. She is a great hiking/walking buddy and loves to sleep at the end of the bed with you.  Akira would thrive as an only pet in a household with either adults only or adults and older children.  She is the perfect dog for someone that is looking for an easy-going dog, as she is already house trained, crate trained, and incredibly smart and trainable.  She is a fast learner and knows all the basic commands of sit, down, come, etc. She is friendly and adaptable. She likes going for walks and exploring the outdoors, but is also content being a calm indoor companion.  It takes her very little time to develop a new routine and do what it is you want her to do. She is on a sensitive skin and stomach food to treat flaky skin. Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 9 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
