Story
Introducing Camel! Camel is a purebred Direwolf brought back from extinction… just kidding! He’s just a plain ol’ husky (mix?)! He’s around ten months old and has grown up with another dog in the home. We were told by his previous owner that he’s playful with other dogs, but he is NOT good with cats or other small critters and will need a home without them. Camel is protective over his food, so any kids and/or dogs at home will need to leave him alone while he eats. Camel is a stunning dog! He has already been neutered and is ready to meet his new family!Intake notes: needs regular grooming, needs a lot of exercise, barks when left alone, digs, mouthy, afraid of loud noises, chews, likes dogs, likes kids, likes riding in cars, previously kept indoors, noisy, energetic, friendly, playfulMore information? Call Marion Area Humane Society at 740-389-6548 or email at manager@mahspets.org

Story
Meet Chocolate! Chocolate had a pretty crappy start to life (literally). His owner moved out and left him behind, locked in a disgusting crate for WEEKS before he was found and brought in as a humane case. Chocolate is as happy and carefree as they come. He’s energetic and honestly pretty obnoxious at first but will calm down after he’s out of his kennel for a little while. Chocolate was skin and bone when he came to us. Due to his history with food insecurity, he will need to be fed away from other animals in the home, and any kids in the home should leave him alone while he eats. He now weighs a healthy 55-60 lbs and we would guess he’s around two years old. Chocolate needs a home where he can burn off some energy. He pulls hard on a leash, but with the right harness and some consistent exercise he will make a great companion!

Story
Miss Naomi. Siberian Husky. Possibly a hybrid. She has piercing hazel-blue eyes and unique facial features/markings. She is spunky and fun. Naomi has a neat personality, knows some commands, Loves snacks and belly rubs. When she connects with you she connects. She has been nothing but gentle and sweet with us at the shelter. Gets super excited when she sees us but can be leery of strangers. She has met other dogs and did well. She also met a cat at the vet and was non reactive (but she was very afraid and stressed at the vet so this may have caused her to be disconnected).Naomi is underweight. We are working on that at the shelter. She was found on 7/3/2023 with No collar, No ID, No Microchip in Westfield Township.Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Story
year-old, 29lb bundle of energy, always ready to play and learn new things. I'm quite the smarty-pants, you know. I've mastered a few commands already! But don't worry, I know when to mellow out and enjoy a good cuddle. I'm energetic, brave and gentle, always by your side. I love making friends, especially with other dogs, but cats aren't really my thing, but that's okay because I have so much love to give to everyone else! I love to go for walks, runs and any activity that is as active as my energy level. I'm a loyal companion, I'll make you laugh with my funny antics and my sweet nature will melt your heart. Adopting me means gaining a forever friend, running partner, playing until your arm falls off friend, who will love you unconditionally and brighten your days with laughter and love. Come fall in love with me at the Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Gilead, OH or call 419-946-1747 for more info on me. If I’m not the perfect match for you, please share me to help find my forever home!January 6, 2025, 1:00 pm
