Story
Chase is a 2 year-old Husky who weighs 46 lbs. He was surrendered to CHA when his owner could no longer care for him. Chase is an unbelievably sweet boy who just wants to cuddle. He will rest his head in your lap and roll over for belly rubs. He was very nervous when he first arrived at CHA, and so he is looking for a patient adopter who will help him gain confidence in his new home. He is especially nervous about walking on leash. While he has gotten so much better in his time here, he can still get a little startled when the leash tugs on him. But he still loves to explore and sniff the world around him! If you`re looking for a dog who will snuggle you all day long, come meet Chase today!

Story
Mr. Skunk is hoping you'll help him turn his luck around. This handsome guy was brought to us as a "stray" by his owners, and while we aren't sure why they gave him up, Skunk doesn't seem to let it get him down! Skunk is a typical Husky; he is vocal, independent, and beautiful! Skunks enjoys spending time with people, but he is happiest outside where he can sniff and feel the wind in his glorious fur. He appears to be potty trained and does well with other dogs. If you have other animals at home we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Skunk home. If you are interested in meeting with Skunk, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
Meet Umi! Unfortunately this is not Umi's first time at FCDACS, after being adopted last summer she has found her way back here again. We recently picked Umi up as a stray after she became quite the local celebrity, hiding out in the woods and requiring a trap to be caught. Though it seems Umi may have been on her own for a while after being, coming back to us thin and covered in ticks, she is still the happy and energetic pup we knew before! Like many Huskies, Umi is an energetic girl that would benefit from an outlet for her energy. Umi would do best in a home without children, though she may do well with respectful older children. Umi has previously done well with other dogs, though she can come on strong and has a typical Husky playstyle. If you have other animals in your home we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Umi home. If you are interested in meeting Umi, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners. Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside. We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog! She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times. She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds. She has been spayed. Sassy lived with dozens of cats prior to being seized and taken to the shelter.Apply to foster Sassy and help her learn to trust people and gain confidence at ricopetrecovery.org
