Story
Have you ever wanted a Husky, but were put off by their size? Bandit is the girl for you! This lady is the whole Husky deal in a smaller package. She has most of the typical Husky quirks; she's talkative, active, and independent. Like many Huskies, Bandit is known to be an escape artist and unfortunately it has resulted in her being a repeat offender at the shelter. But we are confident with some better supervision and some positive reinforcement based training that this girl will thrive in a new home. Bandit appears to be potty trained and already knows some basic skills like "sit". Bandit does well with other dogs, and if you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Bandit home. If you are interested in meeting with Bandit, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 45.25 Age: 2yrs 11mths 3wks

Story
Duchess is a 5 year old, 42lb husky who came to CHA from one of our partner shelters. Duchess is a survivor, as she was diagnosed with heartworm when she arrived at our shelter. Now, thanks to the efforts of our veterinary staff, she is officially heartworm free! Duchess is a very social girl who always greets her caretakers in the morning with bright eyes and a wagging tail. She loves going for long walks and is very well-behaved on leash, and would make the perfect hiking buddy! Duchess is a husky, and like all huskies she displays an elevated prey drive and high energy levels so she will need a forever home that is willing to accommodate those factors. If you are looking for a friendly and energetic girl to fill your life with tail wags and cuddles, come out and meet Duchess today!

Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners. Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside. We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog! She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times. She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds. She has been spayed. Sassy lived with dozens of cats prior to being seized and taken to the shelter.Apply to foster Sassy and help her learn to trust people and gain confidence at ricopetrecovery.org
