She is potty trained as long as you watch for when she asks to go out. Plays great with other dogs and is good with dog-savvy cats. Listens very well. Knows sit, shake and working on lay down. She loves to play with people, dogs and also plays by herself. She settles down nicely and cuddles. Chile does go in the kennel at night and when we aren't home and does so amazingly with no complaining. Sometimes when she gets tired, she will just go in her kennel and lay down. Still working on leash manners. Chile is very smart and learns quickly. She is a loving dog that responds very well to positive reinforcement.  She recently spent a weekend at a sitters and the feed back from the sitting was she was an amazing guest with good manners and played well with their dogs. Chile would make a wonderful addition to any family!  11/14/2024 Foster Feedback: Chile is a very energetic, happy girl! She loves to play with my dogs and they are doing a great job teaching her about boundaries and how to be a wonderful member of society. She is wicked smart and has been doing well with potty and crate training. She sleeps quietly in her crate, but will have an accident if left for more than 2-3 hours. She learned quickly how to use the doggy door, so as long as that is open for her, she goes outside on her own to potty. We are still working on cues for going outside when the doggy door is closed. Chile would do very well in an active home and/or with dog friends to play with! To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org January 29, 2025, 8:55 pm

A Guide to Resource Guarding in Dogs."   Zarah is a beautiful husky who can't wait to meet you!   Foster Home Feedback  ** Resource Guarding 11/25/24 Foster Feedback: We have had Zarah for little more than a month now. I can tell you she rides well in the car. She is kennel trained and has not had any accidents in her kennel. Zarah will whine a little when you put her in the kennel if you don't leave the house or go and come back without letting her out. She has done well being out of her kennel at night.  When we keep her in the room with us, she will sleep on or right next to us.  She has also spent some nights in her kennel without issue.  We have had her on a couple of walks where she does ok, with a little leash pulling but not bad.  She just needs a bit more practice.  Zarah seems to be ok with the cat. She is a little curious at first.  By telling her no and redirecting her as more time goes, she is less excited when she sees the cat. Zarah is on a regular feeding schedule and is doing well.  She was a little skinny when we first got her but is looking good now. She does have a little resource guarding.  To help with that issue we have limited the number of toys that are out and keep the dogs separated while eating. Zarah can be a little timid around new people, but she warms up quickly. We are going to be giving her a bath and brush in the next couple days, as her coat is blowing out a bit from regular husky shedding. ** Zarah is anaplasmosis positive. This is a tick-borne illness, and she is currently being treated with Doxycycline.  ** To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org January 29, 2025, 8:55 pm

If you qualify and are interested in participating in this program, please fill out an application online and type "SENIOR" after your name.   Edgar is a sweet old man ready to settle down   Foster Home Feedback  1/26/2025 Foster Feedback: What can I say about Edgar- he is a great older dog. He is kennel-trained, but you will have to lure him in with a treat. Otherwise, he is not happy about being told to go in. The picture of him in the kennel was one of the times he let himself in and was waiting for dinner- so he will go into the kennel when he wants during the day. He gets along well with the other dogs and could go to a home with a cat. He is more interested in the cat's food than the cat itself. Edgar is very easygoing on a leash, wants to be where you are, and will sit with you and nap. He is left out at night and will sleep with you or next to the bed if he wants space. One thing to know is your bed will become his very quickly.  Edgar can often be found sleeping in bed during the day- most likely right in your spot with his head on the pillow. He hasn't had any accidents in the house, but he has marked a couple of things. One thing you need to watch with him is food- if he sees it, he will try and get a bite and will get into the cat food. He is a great senior dog looking for a place to be his forever home. &#226&#128&#139    ** Edgar is Lyme positive. This is a tick-borne illness, and he is currently being treated with Doxycycline. I love to play fetch, doesn't matter what toy it is, I will bring it back to you. I also love to snuggle and keep my humans warm. I'm not a big fan of the kennel but it's growing on me and I haven't had any accidents in there. Oh, and I am potty trained, and I will let you know if I need to go outside. I know some basic commands but I'm not very food motivated so learning is a bit difficult for me. I like to go on walks and I do pretty good, not too much pulling. Also, I get along great with my foster bro and share all the toys with him.  If you are looking for a good boy to join your family, I would love to meet you. 12/12/2024 Temporary Care Feedback: We had Hawkins for a few days before he went to his permanent foster home and I wanted to add some feedback about this sweet boy. Hawkins is such a lover, he just wants to be with you all the time. He's an amazing cuddler and is just the sweetest. He definitely is not meant for apartments or thinly shared walls (like in townhomes) because he LOVES to talk! He's a typical hound in that he wants his thoughts and opinions to be HEARD! That being said, anyone who is used to having hounds expects this already. He's loves to play and was great with my two dogs. Though my crabby old pomeranian did not want his puppy energy up in his business, so we had to keep reminding Hawkins to give him space. He's a very smart boy and learned quickly. He's fully potty trained and you can tell he just wants to please you.To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org January 29, 2025, 8:55 pm
