Story
Meet joyful Jake, who greets every person, place and thing he meets with curiosity, happiness and energy. Jake jumped in his foster mom’s yard two years ago to play with her lab/pyr mix—and then he jumped out and went to lie down in the road. To keep him safe, foster mom caught Jake and looked for his owner, with no luck. She attempted to rehome him with someone whose temperament ended up being not a good match for Jake, and Jake moved back to foster mom’s house. Although she knew even then that she was not the best match for him (she has double knee replacements) and has cats, which Jake likes to chase, she’s loved Jake for two years. She has recently experienced health issues that are impacting her ability to meet Jake’s need for activity and wants Jake to find the forever home he deserves. At an estimated 4 years old, Jake is neutered, up-to-date on his shots and enjoys daily walks and/or visits to the dog park, where he thinks everyone is his friend. He is house-trained and crate-trained. He would thrive with someone with an active lifestyle who wants to be “his person.” If you’re looking for a hiking buddy and someone to remind you to stop and smell the flowers, which he actually does, then apply to adopt Jake today.

Who is looking to have the best behaved, most unique dog in the neighborhood?? You must come see Noa!! This beautiful lady is happy to join you on any adventure, jumping out of the crate and walking beside you on her leash with her happy tail wagging! Noa is an adult husky at 38lbs, making her kind of a mini husky (and how cute is that?) but is looking forward to some good meals and a few more pounds. Noa has a gorgeous black and white coat with white socks and eyebrows that would make any lady jealous! She does well with other dogs but is very independent and would do great as an only dog too. Don't delay, this dog will be snuggled in her new home soon! *Weekend Host feedback: "Hello! Noa has been such an absolute joy! She was a pro in the car and settled in so quickly when we got back to my place. She’s incredibly laid-back and loves to cuddle. Our walks together were a breeze—she didn’t pull at all, just walked calmly by my side. After each walk, she’d head straight to the couch for a long nap. She was perfect indoors, had no accidents, and slept soundly through the night. Noa loves being outside and is such a social butterfly, always wanting to say hi to everyone we passed".

Story
Meet Luna, a sweet and loving dog who has a special place in our hearts. Unfortunately, we are in a position where we need to find her a new home. We live near a busy highway, and because Luna has a tendency to run off, so we grew concerned for her safety. We believe she would thrive in a home without other pets, as she doesnt get along well with other dogs or cats, though theres a chance she might warm up to them over time. Luna is great with kids and would make a loving companion for the right family. While it breaks our hearts to say goodbye, we want to ensure she goes to a kind and responsible home. We’re asking for a small rehoming fee to help us find her the best possible family.

Story
Meet Capone! I'm a silly, playful, and fun-loving guy who will keep you entertained with my delightful antics. You'll be pleased to know that I'm both crate and potty trained, making me a well-behaved companion. However, I should mention that I prefer to be the only dog in the house, and I'm most comfortable in a home with adults - so no kids, please. I absolutely adore going for walks, and I'm always up for a good cuddle session or some playtime. Chewing on bones is a favorite pastime of mine, and I'm a sucker for treats. You'll find that I'm smart but a bit hard-headed, which can make life with me quite an adventure. Trust me, I'm even cuter in person! If you think I might be the one you're looking for, don't hesitate to ask to meet me. I can't wait to become your best friend and fill your life with love and laughter! Story
Hallie Boo is a lovely 3-year-old, 40 lb. Siberian Husky mix with a sweet, calm, and gentle nature. This beautiful girl has one ear that sometimes stands up while the other stays down, giving her an adorable look. She's easy to leash, walks right by other dogs without reacting, and is a joy to walk -a volunteer even called her "a perfect walker." Hallie Boo knows how to sit, takes treats gently, and is on the potty-trained list as she keeps her kennel clean. She's also a huge fan of cuddles and belly rubs, showing her affectionate side. Hallie Boo wasn't very interested in playing with other dogs in the playgroup-she prefers being with people and feeling the love. She definitely seems like a peaceful co-existor who tolerated other dogs, but she really did not express interest in engaging in play.Come and meet this sweetheart!Although she is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $600 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment.Hallie Boo is ready to go home today - she is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and is already spayed. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
