Patches is 8 months old and is such a sweet boy who is dog and kid friendly. He is also house trained as well. Patches is just a happy go lucky boy. He has been waiting for over 6 months for his home. We pulled Hazel, Patches' mom, from Duplin County Animal Shelter last summer. Hazel was going to be euthanized at the shelter. Hazel ended up being pregnant when we pulled her and two of her pups are still left and one is Patches. We do not know what breed the father was, but Hazel is a Siberian Husky/Shepherd Mix.

Marshall is up to date on age appropriate vaccines, has been started on heartworm and flea prevention and his adoption fee includes a voucher for the mandatory neuter and microchip. Layla is a great dog! She was a rescue that I can no longer keep due to a busy schedule with my kids. I saved her from a pretty bad situation. She is great with kids and house/crate trained. She needs a family that has a fence for sure! She loves to run. She is very lovable and affectionate dog, she would be best as the only dog because she likes a lot of attention. Must have knowledge of the husky bread, they are not your typical dog.

This is a COURTESY POST, so this dog is not at the Cornelius Animal Shelter. If you're interested in Keo, please contact his foster parent at 302-438-5766. Meet Keo! This big teddy bear is the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. We believe Keo is around 3 or 4 years old. Our son started fostering him when his prior owner left the area and couldn’t take Keo with him, but he wasn’t an appropriate dog for a small apartment. When he first joined us, he was underweight and having gut issues. After much testing we discovered that Keo has a form of Addison's Disease, which is easily treated with a small dose of prednisone. His health is now excellent, and he’s at a good weight and is very happy! We’ve been fostering Keo for several months now, and he gets along very well with our 4 other dogs (both males and females). He loves to play, preferring to chase and be chased rather than retrieving balls or sticks. Keo loves taking walks and he likes to wade in the water down at the lake. He likes a comfy dog bed and will sleep on the floor right next to your bed if you let him. He doesn’t get on the furniture unless invited and is not a “counter surfer”. When Keo is excited, he vocalizes like a husky, but is otherwise a quiet dog – he doesn’t bark at other dogs or passers-by. As a larger black dog he looks imposing, but you can see the sweetness and focus in his beautiful blue eyes. Give Keo a chance, you won’t regret it! He deserves a great home.

This pup ran up on me while I was working on a job site and hopped in my truck. I spent over a month trying to reunite her with her family with no luck. On the advice of animal control I kept her while I tried to re-home her. She is a very sweet girl. She needs some training but is surprisingly easy to deal with for a husky. She loves to play with kids and other dogs and loves to run outside. She's crate trained and potty trained. She's about 15-18 months old.

Meet Darlene, a delightful 2-year-old husky mix found as a stray. Her finder shared that she was fantastic with children and even got along beautifully with their cats! It’s no surprise, considering her sweet nature. Darlene dazzles with her stunning heterochromia eyes that add an extra dash of sparkle to her sweet personality. When introduced to another dog at the shelter, she wagged her tail enthusiastically and immediately jumped into play mode. Just a heads-up, though—she can be a bit of a drama queen when it comes to needle pokes, but who can blame her? If you want to meet this lovely girl, visit us at the shelter! Darlene will be ready to find her forever home when we open tomorrow at 12 PM.
