Story
Adventure awaits, and her name is Nova! She's a sporty and active young dog who is looking forward to enjoying life by her human BFF's side. She didn't get to travel much in her last home, so she's been working on her bucket list: hiking, camping, swimming, frisbee, and jogging are just a few of the things she would love to try out! Nova has lived with dogs in the past, but it's not really her thing and she prefers to be a solo pup in the future. She will thrive in an adult home with folks who share her seize-the-day attitude and spice for life! Nova is currently at the Adoption Center, so you can meet her as a walk-in at 14 Forever Friend Lane from Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00-4:00! For more information before you visit, leave a voicemail at 828-761-2001 ext. 300 or email adoptions@ashevillehumane.org.

Story
We took Duke in from our friends brother. Duke spent 23 out of 24 hours a day in a crate because the owner wasn’t allowed to have him in the house. He was terribly infested with fleas, so I couldn’t let him stay there. Unfortunately I just didn’t know what all was involved in taking care of a husky. He is a great dog. He loves people and other dogs! Our home is very small and he is rather large. He lives outside but we feel like he deserves a better home with more attention for him. He also needs a groomer to handle his coat that is not in the best shape. We can’t afford that and he strongly dislikes any touching on his backside. Other than that he’s not a hard dog. He’s stubborn by nature as that comes with the breed, but he would make any one that has the time for him so happy!
