Story
Have you ever seen such a HANDSOME boy ??!! Meet STORM. He is 18 months old; full of personality; SO SMART; playful and very loving ❤ Storm is up to date on his vaccines and rabies; and on monthly preventative for fleas/ticks and heartworms. He will be neutered and microchipped soon. Storm needs a family who is experienced with huskies and loves this breed. A physically fenced in yard would be beneficial for Storm to run and play in safely. He is still learning to walk on a leash. He is a true companion; expressive with his face and eyes; is very curious about everything; talkative at times; and eager to please. Due to his prey drive, a home with no small dogs and no cats is a must. Storm will probably excel as the only dog in the home, however with the right personality match, he gets along with other dogs his size. If you are interested in Storm please go to our website: wwwabetterlifeanimalrescue.com fill out our adoption application and send. We also require a home visit. We are on a mission to find Storm an amazing home.💕

Great dog, but it belongs to someone that no longer lives in the home. I would keep, but I already have another dog and 2 kids with busy schedules. Just cannot give Cash the attention he needs/deserves. Great with other dogs and kids!

Story
Meet Neymira, a gentle soul with a mellow demeanor. She is a female Husky around 4 years old and 56 pounds. Also known as Nay Nay, she carries with her a beautiful and thick fur coat that is soft as silk. Nay Nay can be shy when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly once she adjusts and bonds with her owner. Once you start to see her true personality you learn that she adores belly rubs, her tail wagging in delight as she rolls over to present her tummy for a good scratch at every opportunity. Neymira is house trained and has never shown the need for a crate. She can be left in the house unattended while you’re gone and she makes herself cozy on the couch or a nice dog bed. Nay Nay gets alone well with cats, kids, and other dogs of all sizes. She really enjoys spending time outdoors and will require close supervision. She can easily dig out of a fence and is smart enough to know when you’re back is turned. That being said, she does wonderful on a leash and while being supervised. Nay Nay loves to go for car rides and would be a great companion to take on new hiking adventures. Neymira’s intelligence, coupled with her love for affection and companionship, makes her a unique canine. Her endearing quirks and gentle spirit are sure to fill her future home with joy and laughter. Adopt Nay Nay and let her bring her special blend of joy, love, and adventure into your life! Neymira has been spayed, microchipped, and kept current on vaccines and monthly preventatives. For the first steps of adoption, please be sure to submit an application here: https://humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application/julians. Neymira is safe in a foster home and is not in a shelter. We do allow out of state adoptions but we are unable to provide transport outside of Wilkesboro, NC. For questions you can email julianshumate@gmail.com and expect an email response within a week of applying.

Story
Jack was discovered by his finder in her neighborhood and she then brought him here safely to us. Learning that he was already microchipped, we made numerous attempts to contact his registered owner, through various forms of communication... sadly, never hearing back.??Jack`s finder was able to learn a few things about him while he was in her care, which we can share with you to try to now find Jack a new family! Jack likes wet food, and his discerning palate for such was discovered by his host-finder-family, when their dry food offerings went uneaten. ?? He knows basic commands and this 4 year old also knows that he doesn`t like cats. She kept Jack and her cat separate while he was with her, however he would like his permanent home to be cat-free. Seems this 47 pound handsome husky with one curious, sky blue eye and one soulful, brown eye knows exactly what he likes and doesn`t like; which is something we all can relate to! Although Jack is a little nervous being here, and let`s be honest, he`s been through a lot... apparently in his own home for some time, then for whatever reason becomes a stray, now finds himself here at the shelter! Even with his slight nervousness, he still does so well for all exams and interactions here! He met a similar sized neutered male since his arrival to us and gave tail wags during the interaction. He was tolerant of the new friend, but after a little bit he pawed at his new friend as if to tell him, `okay- I think I`ve had enough now`. We will require meet and greets for Jack with other dogs and children with whom he may share a home, prior to adoption to make sure it`s a great fit for everyone! Please come and meet Jack in person to see if he may be just the forever family member you`ve been searching for!
