Story
Meet Grizzle: A Charming Husky Mix Looking for His Forever Home Grizzle is a delightful Siberian Husky mix with a unique and endearing appearance. With his striking coat and compact build, he may have some Corgi characteristics, giving him a distinctive look. His thick fur requires regular grooming to keep him looking his best. Personality and Behavior Initially reserved, Grizzle has come out of his shell and is now a loving and affectionate companion. He responds well to treat-based training and has learned commands like "sit, "lay, "paw, and "off. Grizzle enjoys learning new tricks and would benefit from a family that can spend time working with him. Daily Life and Needs Grizzle needs a secure, fenced yard because he's quite the escape artist and will test the boundaries if given the chance. Although he's still learning to walk nicely on a leash, he's making progress and generally does well with guidance. Grizzle enjoys lounging around with his people and is a calm presence during walks. He shows some reactivity to wildlife, which can be managed with treats and gentle redirection. Grizzle is currently adjusting to living with goats and a cat. While he's shown a relaxed demeanor around them, he still requires careful supervision and gradual introductions. He's curious about the cat but generally maintains a respectful distance. Toys and Play Grizzle is still discovering his favorite activities. He particularly enjoys small, stuffing-filled toys, which suit his shorter snoot. At this time, he is not interested in playing tug-of-war or fetch. Crate Training and Home Environment Grizzle is crate-trained and will go in with a treat. However, he can be quite vocal when left alone, so he would do best in a home where someone is around frequently. He's not well-suited for apartment living due to his vocal nature. Children and Training Grizzle has not been around children, so his behavior with them is unknown. He is good at communicating his boundaries though and based on his current demeanor, he might be best suited for a home with older children or no children at all, as he prefers not to be unexpectedly grabbed or touched. Potty Training and Health Grizzle is approximately 80% potty trained with only an occasional marking inside. His neuter surgery, which will be completed before adoption, should help with this issue. Grizzle is a sweet and gentle companion who is looking for a loving family that can provide him with the care and attention he needs. If you're ready to welcome a devoted friend into your home, Grizzle might be the perfect fit! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet Grizzle, contact his foster mom Leanna at 336-298-6798 via text only please!

Story
Clover recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what his DDO buddy had to say! "Just had the best time with this boy CLOVER. What an amazing dog! He was treated to pup cups, treats, toys, cuddles/pets, and a long time exploring the sniffspot at Sweetwater Ct. I was treated to lots of hugs and cuddles from this loving guy. We also spent some time inside a home! Here's some more info on this beautiful boy: -Clover is a 4 yr old, 49 lb, husky, male, heartworm negative -very affectionate and likes to be by your side -medium energy, did some jumping up at first but was easily redirected and quickly settled down -gentle boy, no mouthiness -behaved well in the house, didn't jump on counters or have any accidents, did find a small stuffed animal belonging to my child but dropped it when I asked him to -had a bath and did great in the tub -easy on leash, did some pulling initially but once some energy was released did well -perfection in the car, I didn't hear Clover bark the entire day -took treats very gently -liked fetching and chasing toys but not aggressive chewer -has the prettiest eyes, one blue and one brown and cutest pointy ears" As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
