Story
We took Duke in from our friends brother. Duke spent 23 out of 24 hours a day in a crate because the owner wasn’t allowed to have him in the house. He was terribly infested with fleas, so I couldn’t let him stay there. Unfortunately I just didn’t know what all was involved in taking care of a husky. He is a great dog. He loves people and other dogs! Our home is very small and he is rather large. He lives outside but we feel like he deserves a better home with more attention for him. He also needs a groomer to handle his coat that is not in the best shape. We can’t afford that and he strongly dislikes any touching on his backside. Other than that he’s not a hard dog. He’s stubborn by nature as that comes with the breed, but he would make any one that has the time for him so happy!

Story
Hi, I'm Sally! I'm a 5.5-year-old Husky, weighing in at 43 pounds. I'm a gentle, easy-going gal who's looking for a home where I can share all my love and loyalty. Good with other dogs and fully housetrained, I'm the kind of friend who gets along with everyone. I don't mind skipping the toys-I'd much rather spend time with you, whether that's relaxing by your side or enjoying a stroll together. My mellow and sweet personality makes me a fantastic leash walker, and I love meeting new people with a friendly wag and a goofy grin. Ready to meet me? You can apply quickly and easily on our website: foothillshumanesociety.org Applying doesn't obligate you to adopt, but it makes the process smoother if you decide to! You can also visit us in person at: 989 Little Mountain Rd, Columbus, NC 28722 Wednesday through Sunday, 11am-5pm For any questions, feel free to email adopt@foothillshumanesociety.org or call (828) 863-4444. If you're looking for a sweet, gentle, and friendly companion, then I'm your girl. Adopt me, and I promise to bring joy, love, and a touch of Husky goofiness to your life!

Story
Bella came to us after being kept in a crate that was too small for her. It took her awhile to learn how to walk correctly, play, and do all the things puppies do. Now she runs around with the other dogs like a pro. She does well with dogs and kids. She is very curious about cats but has not been in a situation where we can tell how good she is alone with them. Bella has not been socialized with children under 13 years old. She has not been around small children in a situation where we can see how she would act, but when she is not in a crazy setting with a lot of people and chaos she is a very sweet girl. She is such a loving dog! She is potty trained and loves toys. She is very energetic and would love someone that wants to play, especially fetch. She walks on a leash and has learned the basic commands. This sweet girl is very observant and curious, she doesn't miss a thing. **Adoption fee of $175 includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org
