Story
Volunteer notes, 8/5/24:Kovu is a gorgeous, fluffy, friendly and slightly mischievous husky-type dog with piercing blue eyes. He tolerated combing very well and then went wild in the play yard, running at top speed. Based on his behaviors, I would guess he is house trained. He wanted to play chase when it was time to go back to the kennel, but I was able to outsmart him using a treat lure (he was offered treats today but seemed interested in both toys and treats).

Story
Aurora came to BAS in mid-August with her sister, Ariel. These two beauties are sweet and gorgeous. Some volunteers told us the following about the pair: `Ariel and Aurora are new arrivals and were understandably shy when we first took them out today. Within about five minutes, they had relaxed enough to start showing off their endearing personalities. Both of them are a nice medium size with fluffy coats and beautiful blue eyes. Ariel is mischievous and affectionate with a lot of puppy energy. Aurora is more mature yet still energetic, with excellent grownup manners. She shows great patience for Ariel’s puppy behaviors, including all the times Ariel literally leaped over her. Aurora knows “sit” and Ariel is learning. Both were very treat and toy motivated. They loved to race each other and fetch toys. Both were willing to be combed and snuggled. Aurora is more of a cuddler than Ariel and Ariel gets slightly jealous of attention paid to Aurora. Ariel is more vocal than Aurora. They are both 100% sweet dogs. These two little girls were absolutely delightful to play with today.`They:- Enjoy meeting new people- Are cuddly and affectionate- High Energy- Both treat and toy motivated- Dog friendly

Story
I got Gohan from a local NC breeder when he was 8 weeks old. He is now 1 year and 4 months old and is an awesome dog. He loves to run, walk, eat, and sleep. So a new owner would definitely need to be an active owner, who also doesn’t care to have some dog hair around. He is super smart and has taken to training easier than I would have thought since I trained him myself. He enjoys dog parks and other dogs to a degree. Since he is a husky and is pack driven, once that bond is made he is always in calling range. He rarely cuddles, but at night if allowed on the bed he will easily be a warm body beside you. Since having him for over a year I can proudly say he has never chewed my shoes, clothes, or furniture. He is house trained, but with new environment he will need to be shown where to go to alert when he needs to use the bathroom. Lastly, he is named Gohan after an anime character from Dragon Ball Z, and if you are familiar with that show (Cell Saga Gohan).

He needs a home with an experienced dog owner who can take him on car rides, walks and lots of playing catch (he loves to fetch)! He's an amazing dog and is looking forward to a new family to love. ##654099##

Story
Rowdy is one of the fastest dogs at the rescue and when he hears you talking to him, he jumps up and down like he's on a pogo stick - he's a dog with a great personality that is super smart and needed some guidance in learning how to be his best self. So, in August 2020, he went to school and graduated! Rowdy has graduated from basic obedience training school and learned how to sit and stay in place, how to walk on a leash, and to focus his energy. He is loveable, energetic, and funny and is very food motivated, so further training in his forever home would work well. With proper introduction, he gets along well with other dogs. Good with Dogs: Selective Good with Cats: Not tested but probably not as Siberians are notorious for their high prey drive and typically kill cats, rabbits, birds, chickens, squirrels, opossums, etc. Good with Children: Only older children, Rowdy can be a little .. ahem... "rowdy"  House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Rides Well in Car: Yes Leash Trained: Yes Basic Obedience: YES! Graduated from Basic Obedience training. ##654125##
