Story
Beautiful, petite, and has been a wonderful family dog. She's being rehomed due to lack of fenced yard and going after a neighbor's chickens; and more recently, a very young kitten. She's been housed with adult cats, a variety of dogs, and young children, so will still be a great family dog in a home with a fenced yard, no kittens or tiny animals, and no birds or farm animals such as chickens. Fenced yard required; VET'S REFERENCE REQUIRED.October 14, 2024, 7:16 pm

Story
These Husky-mix pups were running out of time at the shelter, so AARF pulled all 9 of them and placed them in foster homes while they await their new homes. They have done well in foster care and are working on their basic skills. House training, crate training, leash walking, and general good house manners such as learning how to sit on command are all works in progress. At 6 months old, they are playful, active, and good-looking puppies, hoping for an active household that matches their energetic natures. Are you ready to take them into your home and teach them even more? Come meet our adoptable dogs on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm in the backyard at AARF's new location- 302 Thurston St, W-S. Go to AARFWS.org to view and apply for our AARF dogs. Information about the process is available on our website. Remember that we do not adopt more than a 45-minute radius from our facility in Winston Salem.

Story
Hello, my name is Texas, but Foster Mom calls me Dallas! I'm an adorable young pup with lots of energy. I love to play, explore, and make new friends. I'm super affectionate and love getting pets and cuddles. I'm also curious about everything and love to sniff and investigate new smells and sights. I'm an outgoing pup and am enjoying my foster siblings. My previous owners didn't have any other dogs so all this is new and I love it! I hope we get to meet your family and see if we are a pawfect match. Come meet our adoptable dogs on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm in the backyard at AARF's new location- 302 Thurston St, W-S. Story
My name is Alaska....my foster mom calls me Ally! My Foster mom asked me what my idea of a perfect furever family would be. I thought about it and this is what I came up with. My perfect family would be a family that would be patient with me and love me for who I am. You see, I am still a puppy! You like that it rhymes, sort of I need a family that would be willing to spend a lot of play time with me and one that would continue my "manners" training! My foster mom says I am a very good puppy that has the potential to be a great dog with the right family! I learn quickly and know sit, down, no. I love my treats and toys. I am currently working on house training. I still have the occasional accident. I currently live in a home with 4 other dogs and three cats. I get along with everyone, but I love Boo most of all. He is around my age and we love to run and play in his back yard. I also have a kiddie swimming pool that I love to lay in and cool off after a lot of fun play with Boo! I am currently trying to teach my friend Boo how to fetch. He will run with me to get the tennis ball, but I am always the one taking it back to my foster mom! I sleep in my crate at night. I have to have a little snack to get settled into my crate. I don't like to be in the crate during the day. I am lucky that my foster mom is a stay-at-home mom! I am an active pup, and I am working on walking nicely on a leash. My husky side comes out at times, and I find myself pretending like I am pulling a snow sled! After exercise I am good at settling down inside. I sometime sleep at my foster mom's feet when she is at her computer and sometimes, I sleep on the couch beside my best friend Boo or sit with my foster mom in her chair. If you think I sound like a good fit to be your family's newest member, I would love to meet you and make a heart-to-heart connection. That is how I communicate the best.... the love that my heart has to give and wants to receive!
