Story
Simon is a volunteer favorite, and it's easy to see why! This charming husky has a playful spirit and a lovable personality that endears him to everyone he meets. Whether he's strutting his stuff on a walk or riding in the car, Simon is always ready for an adventure. He's great on a leash, making walks a joy, and he loves to play ball, often doing a cute little hop in his walk that never fails to bring a smile to your face. Ideal Home: Cat-free home Understanding of house training needs: We need a family willing to use a pee wrap and work with a trainer, for whom we will give you a scholarship. No other huskies, but has been happily interacting with other breeds. Loving and active: A family ready to provide love, attention, and plenty of playtime. We know the perfect home is out there for Simon-a home where he can be loved for his wonderful qualities and his goofy, playful nature. Are you ready to give Simon the forever home he deserves? Story
Meet Luca who is an all white male pomsky. He is about 1.5 year old and weighs about 22 lbs. Luca came to the rescue from a farm, where he was living in a horse stall with 11 other dogs. Due to lack of socialization, he is very shy around people, but loves other dogs. Although he hasn't been playing with the resident dogs, Luca needs to have another friendly dog in his forever home to help him continue to learn how to be a dog.  Because of his flight risk, Luca requires a secure, physically fenced yard. Luca is finally beginning to learn what the good life is like.  He just recently started running in the grass and playing with toys.  Luca LOVES to play fetch!  He is crated during the day and even hangs out in the crate at times when he feels like it.  Luca has actually been sleeping with his human foster and cuddles close, as long as she doesn't look at him.  Although Luca is doing well with potty training, he does need a lot of work with leash walking, as he was never on a leash before.  At this time we do not know how Luca is with children or cats.  He will need a very patient adopter that understands that it will take awhile for him to adjust and warm up.  Luca is making steady progress with confidence and becoming more social every day, but he still has a ways to go. ##2056436##

Story
Chinook the Shepsky came to us well traveled: He was born in the Westbank, Palestine, as a stray but luckily was taken into the Bethlehem Animal Shelter from which he was adopted to Quebec City, Canada but this adopters quickly learnt that he is not an ideal dog for a small basement apartment where he is left locked up all day. They wanted to surrender him to the local public shelter, but before they could do that, European friends of mine working in Animal Welfare and who have done rescue missions at the Bethlehem Shelter, connected with us and organized a volunteer transport to us on his 1st birthday. Chinook has the energy of a husky and the smarts of a shepherd so he is looking for an active home. He LOVES people and especially children; he an amazing dog, very very sweet and a total snuggle bug, he's a total leaner and has yet to meet a stranger, but he does need outlets for his energy. He'd make a wonderful running, hiking or trail riding partner. He's gotten used to chickens, ducks, goats and horses but still needs supervision around cats. He loves and gets along really well with dogs! He's actually never been an only dog and does show signs of anxiety when he's left inside the house by himself (which only ever happens by accident). Therefore he must be adopted to have a canine friend, and ideally he'd be adopted together with his BFF Enzo. He doesn't need a yard if his new home will provide him the much needed exercise; he also doesn't necessarily need a fence as long as the property is big enough for him to roam without getting in trouble. Here at the rescue ranch he keeps our property free of predators and has evicted all coyotes, while he roams our property he never runs away and always stays closeby. We walk him off leash and again he roams but doesn't run away and will always come right back.November 3, 2024, 12:23 am
