Meet Athena: A Big Heart in a Fluffy Package Athena is a 1-year-old Husky with a beautiful spirit and an even bigger heart. This sweet girl is as friendly as they come, always eager to make new friends—human or furry alike! Her chill demeanor makes her the perfect companion, whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure. Athena adores love and affection and will happily soak up all the cuddles you’re willing to give. Don’t be surprised if she nudges you gently, asking for more belly rubs or ear scratches—she’s a certified love bug! She also has a playful side and enjoys a good game of fetch in the yard, but she’s just as content curling up by your side for a cozy nap. Athena is fully house-trained and knows several commands, including sit, wait, eat, down, paw, stay, and come. Her eagerness to please makes her a joy to work with, and she’s always ready to learn something new. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and well-mannered companion, Athena might be the 1

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. GIA was born at the Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine, the night after we brought her mom, a pure bred German Shepherd Dog into our care. She was born on 21st September 2024 and has lived with her siblings, her mom and a few other teenage German Shepherd Dogs.   We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. GIA was spayed on 25 September, she is current on her vaccinations, although she will require her rabies as she is currently too young for that vaccine. She is microchipped and at the time of her spay surgery weighed 11.20 pounds. We do not know what breed she is mixed with, but can confidently say her mother is a German Shepherd Dog - RHEA and can be seen in the photos. It is our policy at Give a Dog a Home Rescue to NOT adopt puppies until they are 3 months old, so that we can ensure that they are getting the crucial socialization with other dogs that they need. However, families that have another dog at home, or are looking at adopting two pups/dogs will be able to apply and adopt before she reaches 3 months of age. Gia is a young pup and so her personality is in the early stages of development and so it will be the family and home environment that dictates how she behaves as she grows up. There is no reason for her to not be great around children of any ages, unless of course the child/ren make her fearful or hurt her. We do not have any age restrictions for families with children, but do expect responsible families in regards to both children and the pup and have 100% supervision when they are together. Gia will need a family that has the time and means to care for a pup, which includes training, socialization and explosing her to as many environments as possible, but in a way that she is comfortable, safe and happy. She is going to be a medium/large dog and so an active lifestyle is important as well as a family understanding the mental needs and intelligence of this kind of dog. We are looking for a family that understands she will be teething, she will be going through her "teenage" phase and will be a lot of work. Gia has an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
Max is a 10 -12 month old husky/shep mix with tons of personality. He is a lovable guy and super smart. He loves to play and enjoys going for walks. He is good with all dogs. He is housebroken and crate trained . Max’s only fault is that he can climb a chain-link fence. For this reason, we recommend a tie out when outside for the first few months. Until he is comfortable in a new environment, he really is a great dog and super friendly! He lives with cats and big and small dogs. Please contact Mountain Rottie rescue for more information. You can also fill out one of our applications located on our website . Max currently fostered in Elizabeth city North Carolina.

Story
Hey there, my name is Machiavelli, or Machi for short! I`m a high-octane guy who loves to play and GO! I`d make an excellent running buddy and hiking companion for my future owner since I like nothing more than to be out and about on adventures regularly. I can settle nicely at home with my people once my exercise needs are met. I need a home without kids though, as I can be very exuberant with how I show affection. Preferably, I`d be an only fur-child, but can have doggie playdates with other dogs that can keep up with my enthusiasm for play and activity. I find cats to be just TOO much fun to chase, so a home without them would be best. I`m food motivated, and learning new things is a breeze for me since I`m also quite an intelligent guy, if I do say so myself! If I sound like a good fit for you and your family, please call the kennel staff at (413) 447-7878 ext.126 to find more about how to adopt me!
