Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     6m Snow is the sweetest pup who loves everyone he meets, especially other doggies.  He is high energy, 6m young, well mannered for his age.  Because he is a Husky mix, must go to a home w/ Husky experience, ideally w/ another Husky in house and plenty of room to play.  Huskies are working dogs--not couch potatoes.  Limiting them is a disservice to the breed and a potential behavior problem.  Please apply if you have both a husky friend in house for him and experience w/ the breed.  All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social. Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
Salem came in with 27 other huskies back in October. She’s been a wonderful and sweet girl, showing off a calm demeanor both on walks and when following commands (although she needs treats to really pay attention), But can be a bit mouthy when she needs to. In proper husky fashion, inclement weather doesn’t bother her. She just absolutely loves the snow and would spend all day in a snowbank if we let her! Coming from a situation with so many other dogs, she’s okay with other dogs, but may be looking for a home where she doesn’t have to share the attention, especially not with any cats.

Story
Crypt is a 7 year-old, 55 pound gentleman who came to us from a hoarding case with 27 other huskies. He’s a little nervous in the shelter, but that nervousness goes away when treats come out. He’s confident enough to try pickpocketing our volunteers for snacks if they aren’t paying attention while walking him. He walks well on a leash, and after coming from a home with so many other dogs is dog friendly. We think he’d do well in any home!

Story
Reaper came to us from a hoarding situation with 27 other huskies and weighs about 58 pounds. Coming from a hoarding situation, he’s a little nervous but has relaxed a lot after being with us for a few months and is showing himself to be an absolute sweety. He’s beginning to pick up on how playing works, and that people can offer him good cuddles (although he’s only comfortable with people he knows). So far he’ll accept treats politely from our volunteers and then set them on the ground. We think he’s read Hansel and Gretel a few too many times. Overall Reaper is a gentle and well behaved boy we think would do well in a house with respectful children who understand petting puppies with gentle hands

Story
Hi, my name is Bubble, I am 10 months old. I am a curious puppy and I really want to explore the world and play all the time, but my human friends are very busy and their home is too tiny for a big guy like me who loves to run and play. One of my favorite activities is long walks(specially in the snow). If you are thinking about taking me home with you, you should know that I Will not hesitate to let you know if I do not agree with you and that I need a lot of toys and space to be a good boi, I need a friend who can play with me, because I get bored easily i am by myself, but by far the most thing you should know is that I need a family who can train me, some one that has the knowledge, patience and determination to bring out my full potential. I already know how to sit, shake your hand, speak, spin, lie down, and wait for my food, and I know how to go slow when I am taking a walk. For more details or questions asks my human friends.

Story
Leo is a phenomenal and very loving BIG dog, but due to moving I am not able to take him with me. Sweetest Teddy Bear hoping to find him a good home with someone that can give him the attention he deserves. He is fully house trained and potty trained and he has grown up with small kids and other dogs and does very well with both. He has never been around cats before. He is very relaxed for people that do not want a high strong dog but he does love to play if you want to get him wound up!
