I was picked up as a stray by a local shelter when I was just a baby. Everyone told me I was super cute and my family would come looking for me but they never came and nobody adopted me. After 3 months of living in the shelter the staff was out of space and needed to make room and 'my time was up' luckily a staff member bought me some time and started reaching out to rescues explaining I was just a baby and needed some work on resource guarding (I held onto everything I got just in case I wouldn't get anything again). The lady from Almost Home said yes and that's when the fun began. I got to the rescue and they started introducing me to kids, dogs, cats, and toys. I had to learn to share and I learned how much fun toys with others are and that there are always treats and toys and kids are fun and so are small puppies. I love everything! I even love water- I swim in the horses tanks all the time because a beautiful girl like me loves to stay cool and keep my coat clean. Everyone says I am such an amazing girl and so pretty but nobody has given me a chance yet- rescue lady says one day my perfect family for me will show up and I will be spoiled. I would love to meet you though if you are a man we will need a woman or child as a buffer as men can be scary to me. But I do love everyone I just get shy -- rescue lady thinks maybe a man was mean to me at some point when I was a baby but I do try and I loved the worker men at the shelter when I was there. I just need some time to understand they won't hurt me. I'm not mean I just run away from men. But women and children I am a true lap dog in every sense of the word. I love hugs and kisses from them and will try to make myself small so I can cuddle in their laps.  Please scroll down for the boring information about me the rescue lady said people might want to know. Approximate DOB 2/1/2023 Approximate Adult Size - Medium maybe 50 lbs now  History- This young girl ended up at a local shelter early July 2023 and lived there until transferred to us in September 2023.  It appears staff and volunteers spent a lot of time with her however, she was labeled as special 'no kids under 12' and a meet and greet as she was possibly 'aggressive with other animals'. This could be part of the reason she was never adopted. Anyhow, we went to meet her and she was lovely and was transferred to our program. We have found she is just a fantastic girl!!!She is gentle with small children, scared of cats, and is just such a little lovebug who loves to lay on your lap and gives the best hugs. Temperament- Super sweet, very smart, loves attention, and tries really hard to do what is expected of her. When she got here she was very worried about normal everyday household things such as the tv, the ceiling fan, just everything she would just be amazed and a little worried and would hesitate to come in. For the longest time we had to bring her in on a leash because she was so worried. However now she just runs in whenever and enjoys hanging out with us in the living room. She is just super easy well behaved girl.   Energy Level- She used to be super high energy however I have noticed she has calmed down and acts more like my German Shepherd just patrolling the yard. However she does still enjoy wrestling and playing chase with the other dogs.    Dogs/Cats- Loves all the dogs she has met. Is a perfect girl with all the other dogs. Absolutely loves loves loves puppies - she will lay on the floor with them and just let them climb all over her. She is just sooo perfect. She has learned the cats aren't as scary as she had originally thought but she still keeps her distance and will go to her crate if they come into the living room. Housetrained- She uses a dog door but is also crate trained and will go in and out to potty through the regular door. So either is fine for her. She is crated when I am not home.   Vegas is an absolute doll. She absolutely loves, loves, loves attention and seeks her person for comfort. She enjoys sitting in the chair next to me when we are outside pretending she's a person as well. She is awesome with kids - my grandkids love playing with her as she is very gentle and doesn't knock anyone down. She would just be an amazing dog for any home. She has met lots of people and just loves everyone. Though we did find out recently that she would do best in a home with women and children and/or a very patient man that can spend a lot of time gaining her trust through a woman. I know huskies have a bad rap about being loud and being escape artists - she is a very quiet husky and she has never tried to leave the property but as with most dogs if a gate is left open she will run off to play as she has never been trained to not leave a fence when given the opportunity. If I have to run inside real quick for something and forget to leave the door open or if I close it she will wait for me on the front porch until I come back out. She is just an amazing dog who would make a wonderful addition to any family.  Adoption fee $250 includes spay, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need.
