Story
What do you think of my close up? If you like the looks of my picture, just wait until you see me in person! My captivating looks always cause folks to admire me. Attentive, composed and curious: that’s the way I’d describe myself. You and I will be a hit on our walks together. I am used to folks who come up to exclaim what “a beautiful dog I am.” You will repeat those words every morning when we wake up to a new day together. I’ll be the one to get you going for that walk you want to take, that conversation with that new neighbor or that new coffee shop you’d like to try. It’s Winter in New Mexico, my kind of weather! I’m ready for a new phase in my life—with you! If you have another dog at home, please bring him/her to meet me! A team member says, "Blueberry and I had a great time on our walk today. She's easy to walk and loved playing chase games and getting her zoomies out in the park. She knows how to sit and takes treats gently."

Story
Am I not the most handsome fellow you've ever seen?? My ears - so expressive! My eyes - so unique! I'm a classic Husky pup - young, adorable and full of energy. I might be high-energy (I mean, I AM a Husko pupper), but I'm also well-behaved. I get praise from my friends here for walking nicely on a leash and doing very well in my doggie playgroups. I got the cutest wiggles when I met my most recent doggo playdate buddy, and a good 15 minutes of playful wrestling had me ready for a nap. If you're up for that Husky life - walks, parks and games to help me stay physically and mentally sharp, along with some snuggles - we'll be a great fit! A team member adds, "Wilson is a silly and sweet young guy who absolutely loves to play and hang out with you. His favorite thing to do is go to the park and get some sniffs and exploring in. He's also obsessed with the flirt pole toy and could spend all day playing with it. He's easy to walk and friendly to every human and dog he meets."

Story
QUACK! NOT! I’m a dog, but I know what you might wonder when you see my name, like, do I waddle? NOT! Also, my name doesn’t mean “duck” as in dodging. Nope, my name means something older and more basic: “to plunge.” Yes, we will plunge into love together, my double-colored eyes showing you forever that my devotion is no dodge, but a plunge into us being forever buddies. So you know, I’ll never duck from going on walks or hikes! I’ll never dodge learning tricks or playing with toys! Nope! I’m Duck, and I’m such a fun guy I may “quack” you up in laughter. But most essential, I want to be the dog you love so that you can be the human I love. That would be ducky!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. How to Adopt Meet Misty: A Resilient and Loving Husky in Search of Her Forever Home Misty, formerly known as Snowflake, has had a challenging journey. She came to SHRNM after being abandoned by her family of four years. For most of her life, she was kept outside, even during the birth of at least one litter. Thanks to generous donations, she received a dog house and a 10x10-foot chain link kennel, which was a significant improvement from the chain that had confined her. When her family moved to another state, they left her behind in the outdoor kennel. For several months, a neighbor fed her, though Misty was left with dirty water and a filthy living space. The neighbor, afraid to approach her, would throw food into her kennel. Finally, after three long months, this neighbor sought help for Misty, and our rescue was contacted. Misty quickly became a beloved member of SHRNM. She was friendly with people, though she didn't get along well with other dogs. Her loving and submissive nature shone through. It took some time, but eventually, a young man in the Albuquerque area adopted her. He lived with and cared for his grandparents, and Misty was renamed. She slept in his bed, played with his male dog, and became a cherished family member. Unfortunately, after eight months, the grandparents felt that Misty was too energetic and decided they could no longer keep her. As the young man was their caregiver, he had no choice but to return her to SHRNM. Misty is a wonderful husky, house-trained, friendly (with a joyful bounce), and good on a leash. She’s now looking for a true forever home with a secure 5-6 foot fence, attentive owners, daily walks, and lots of love. If you're ready to give Misty the life she deserves, please contact us. Let's find this resilient and loving husky her perfect home. For more information on Misty complete an online application and contact Shirley at (575) 491-9577. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 12:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. How to Adopt My name is Balto and I heard that I was named after another famous husky that helped people up in the north a long time ago. I am a bit reserved but once you get to know me, I will also be your best friend. I’m a smaller husky. I love exploring on a hike, going for walks, and even just heading out to the dog park for a fun trip to meet other dogs.  I get along with everyone and I do have a very playful side, so wrestling with my dog friends may be in the cards!  Sometimes my dad says he finds me upside down relaxing and napping. I do love life and would love to meet you if feel like I would add to your life as well!  Fill out an application and let's meet. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. How to Adopt Hi – I’m Bennie! My foster dad describes me as a great doggie that loves humans and just has to be with him for walks and outings! I am an active husky and willing to listen and learn new things. I have a grin that fits my personality! I love the girl doggies, but am more selective about my male dog friends, so I would love a home as either a single loving guy, or perhaps a calm doggy female that can help me become my best self!   My foster dad says he is willing to have our fabulous trainer help with some training for me so I can learn how my humans become great “Bennie” owners! If you would love to meet me, please contact my foster dad, Steve, at 505-264-2514 TODAY!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 12:23 pm
