Story
I got Maki from a family friend. I took her in when she was 4 months old. She does get along with other dogs. As I had another husky at home. She’s very friendly and playful. But I feel like she has anxiety while not being around people. She is about to turn one on August 19th. I’m looking for home where she’s able to enjoy herself and not have to worry about not having people around. Where she’s able to get walked 2 times a day, gets to go to the dog park.

Story
Meet Evelyn, this pretty girl is 2 years old and 45lbs. She walks well on leash and crate trained. She has gotten along with every dog she has met, but small animals and cats probably aren’t a good idea. Evelyn does have a bite history, but has done very well in her time with us. She will need a large yard with a 6 ft fence. and likes to be outside most of the day. She may prefer a doggie door so she is free to roam. Evelyn is a headstrong girl, and does better when she can be free to spend her time roaming outside. Interested in becoming a forever home for Evelyn the Husky? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Evelyn the Husky. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Evelyn the Husky the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Shiloh is a sweet, energetic husky who’s looking for a new home where he can thrive. He knows all his basic obedience, is fully house-trained, and loves to run and play. He’s very smart, loves people, and does best with someone who can give him structure and attention. He needs a home with a yard and ideally a male owner or someone confident with high-energy dogs. He’s not aggressive but has a strong personality and will push boundaries if not given clear direction. He’s not a good fit for small apartments or first-time dog owners. This is a rehoming based on energy mismatch and space—he deserves more room and one-on-one time than I can give him right now. $55 rehoming fee to ensure he goes to someone serious and responsible. He’ll come with a leash, harness, and leftover food. Message me if interested or if you have questions.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. THEO was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and  arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 14th February. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue to meet and then hopefully take home. THEO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly flea/tick prevention and was given the 12 month pro-heart heartworm prevention injection in February 2025. He is microchipped and on 12 February weighed 50.20 pounds. He has an estimated date of birth of December 2022.  We do not know what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. Theo does have "Partial Heterochromia, also referred to as Sectoral Heterochromia" which is when part of the iris is a different colour than the rest of the eye. In Theo's case, it is the ice blue, which is common in the husky breeds and adds a beautiful uniqueness to his already stunning face. The shelter volunteer (21 January) stated friendly but a bit nervous as well, approached me, sniffed my hands and allowed me to pet him, offered him a treat but was not interested in them, semi walks on leash, would try pulling back licking his lips.  (25 January) he came out to the yard and was freezing to greets and was very unsure not understanding what was going on because he would just try to stay on his own wanting to get away from the other dogs.   (Rescue comments - it is important to take into account when reading these comments that these dogs are in a strange environment with a lot of dogs, and they are learning about each other in a very small space of time, it is high stimulation environment, also often the first time they have had exercise with other dogs.  Comments are from volunteers, not trainers or behavio rists). We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. THEO is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550, as noted he is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet boy. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Link to the Adoption Application To look at lots more photo's be sure to check out our    Facebook Page ALBUMS    where we are able to upload hundreds of photos of our dogs waiting for their forever homes and families. Story
Nova is a 3 year old husky mix and weighs 46 lbs. Her foster reports that she is a moderate temperament, affectionate, gentle, and loves her daily exercise and mental stimulation. She is looking for an active experienced owner who can exercise and play with her 3-4 times per day - with at least one active playtime being about 45 minutes to an hour. As sled dogs, huskies maintain their energy throughout their life and especially appreciate an owner who wants to enjoy the cold with them. In her previous home, Nova was reportedly friendly with other dogs, so we think she will be ok with proper introductions. She has no experience with cats. When at home, Nova loves having her belly rubbed. She will greet you each morning w kisses and snuggles. Her ideal home has someone at home regularly or a pack walker during the day. At home she is content to relax quietly in the same room near you. Nova, also called Josephine or Jojo now, is fully vetted, spayed, micro chipped and ready for her forever home! Please contact AmsterDog by call/text at 917-689-8414 or by email at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Nova at AmsterDog.org
