Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. GIA was born at the Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine, the night after we brought her mom, a pure bred German Shepherd Dog into our care. She was born on 21st September 2024 and has lived with her siblings, her mom and a few other teenage German Shepherd Dogs.   We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. GIA was spayed on 25 September, she is current on her vaccinations, although she will require her rabies as she is currently too young for that vaccine. She is microchipped and at the time of her spay surgery weighed 11.20 pounds. We do not know what breed she is mixed with, but can confidently say her mother is a German Shepherd Dog - RHEA and can be seen in the photos. It is our policy at Give a Dog a Home Rescue to NOT adopt puppies until they are 3 months old, so that we can ensure that they are getting the crucial socialization with other dogs that they need. However, families that have another dog at home, or are looking at adopting two pups/dogs will be able to apply and adopt before she reaches 3 months of age. Gia is a young pup and so her personality is in the early stages of development and so it will be the family and home environment that dictates how she behaves as she grows up. There is no reason for her to not be great around children of any ages, unless of course the child/ren make her fearful or hurt her. We do not have any age restrictions for families with children, but do expect responsible families in regards to both children and the pup and have 100% supervision when they are together. Gia will need a family that has the time and means to care for a pup, which includes training, socialization and explosing her to as many environments as possible, but in a way that she is comfortable, safe and happy. She is going to be a medium/large dog and so an active lifestyle is important as well as a family understanding the mental needs and intelligence of this kind of dog. We are looking for a family that understands she will be teething, she will be going through her "teenage" phase and will be a lot of work. Gia has an adoption fee of $550 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
Storm is a 8-year-old Siberian Husky from North Carolina; we purchased him from a breeder. When we first got Storm, we were ignorant of the temperament of Huskies, and the reality is Storm would be better suited in a home with a fenced backyard with an active owner. He is a playful & energetic dog however he tends to bolt if given any opportunity as is common for his breed and one of our biggest challenges with him.

Story
** Current Location: in South Korea ** • Rescue Story : Say hi to Jinyea👋 She was found alone on a street in South Korea at four months old and sent to a high-risk shelter where she sadly ended up on the euthanasia list. Luckily saved from that fate by the rescue team, she started living in a shelter, patiently waiting for her forever family. • Personality: Affectionate, Easy-going, Chill She is such a sweet girl around all people. All she asks for from you is pets! Also, she is one of the most laid-back pups in the shelter! She adapts to a new environment very quickly, which implies that she would have a smooth transition after adoption. • Affinity with -Cats: Not tested -Dogs: Gets along with some dogs she is interested in. She is just very chill and indifferent to other dogs. -Adults/Kids: Good with adults / Not tested for kids • Walking Manner: in training and improving! • Housetrained: Needs work, but she would prefer to potty outdoors when adopted • Shedding: 5-7 • Food Allergies: No • Bark or Howl: No • Bathing/Brushing: Tolerates both well • Likes & Dislikes: LOVES people and attention! / Not a fan of being confined alone

Story
Azul was one of those New York City Street kids, just a year-old pup when he was saved by Husky House. Azul is very smart and picks his humans to love. He is a large, handsome boy with a strong personality. He will need an experienced owner who is patient and will provide him with the training he needs to be the best he can be. Azul would do best in an adult home (no children). Previous large dog experience a must to be considered for adoption. Please no homes with cats or small animals. So, if you are that special someone that will be picked by Azul to love, if you think that you understand a guy who had to live out on the streets and is more cautious until he trusts you, then please apply to adopt Azul at www.huskyhouse.orgNovember 4, 2024, 8:29 pm
