Cindy is new to the shelter and so far is a total husky, howl and all!  She appears to know some basic commands, loves a good stuffy and would really like for 2026 to be her year!  All Perth Amboy Animal Shelter residents will be fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.  You must be 23 or older to adopt from the shelter, complete an Adoption Application and pay the associated adoption fee.  The application must be approved by the shelter staff and all adoptions are finalized based on the best interests of our animals.  Come visit us Monday - Friday between 10am and 4pm and Saturday/Sunday from 10am - 3pm.  Contact us at (732) 324-3877 and don't forget to ask about our Foster Program!December 22, 2025, 6:50 am

Meet Lucky! Lucky is a male husky who was pulled by Husky House from a kill shelter when he was on the euthanasia list. Lucky is an energetic dog who loves to play! He does have some resource guarding tendencies with food and treats, so he would do best in an adult only home who can help him work on this. Lucky has been reported to do well with dogs and will be introduced to dogs at Husky House once he is more settled in and relaxed. His previous owners were found and did not want him back, and it appears they threw him out in the street as they posted they could no longer keep him the day before. Quincy becomes anxious at the shelter or when crated, and injured himself due to the stress at the city shelter, which is why he was pulled by Husky House. Meet Ruby! Ruby is a petite husky (she weighs just 33lbs) who is looking for her loving forever home. Ruby has luxated patellas on both of her back knees, and her previous owners called 911 to get rid of her one day as they were no longer willing to help with her disability, which led to her being brought to the ACC. Husky House pulled her upon hearing about this, as alumni Ripple and Whopper both had the same condition and did great with surgery. She has gotten surgery on her first knee and has completely healed from the procedure, and Husky House is working with veterinarians to determine if surgery is an option for her other knee. Ruby is a very sweet, affectionate pup who loves people and other dogs. She even used to live with a cat, so she’s cat friendly! Interested in adopting Ruby?
