Story
Hi y'all. My name is Jaime. I was abandoned by my human. They left me and others behind when they moved. But it all worked out, cause you see this nice lady came and rescued us. Now I have a yard with toys and treats. Even as nice as this place is. I yearn for my own family to run and play with. A place where I'll never be left behind again.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 12:11 am

Story
**Meet Sable - The Energetic Husky Looking for Her Forever Home!** Sable is a sweet, playful Husky who is sure to steal your heart! She absolutely loves treats, chew toys, and peanut butter—her favorites! She’s learning to stay out of trouble (she’s even starting to leave the turtles alone... we think! ), and she's very responsive to voice commands. Sable is full of energy and loves playing with other dogs, though she can get a bit rowdy, so a playmate who can keep up with her would be ideal. While she's great with dogs, she’s still learning how to be around cats. Our cat isn't quite convinced yet, as Sable’s playful, sometimes predatory instincts can be a bit much for him. She’s going to make a fantastic companion for someone with an active lifestyle, preferably without cats. If you’re looking for an energetic, loyal, and fun-loving buddy to run, play, and share adventures with, Sable is your girl!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 12:11 am

Story
Meet Leo! Leo has been DNA tested and we know that he is a Siberian Husky/Great Pyrenees/Mountain Cur mix. He has a beautiful soft golden coat with golden brown eyes. Leo is a very sweet boy who loves to be with his humans, but he is leery of men until he gets to know them. He does overcome this fear with the help of treats and patience. Next thing you know, he will be your best friend. At the shelter, Leo was known as the play yard rockstar because he gets along so well with other dogs. He knows several commands, such as "sit, "down, "shake, and "leave it". Leo will need a 6 foot privacy fenced backyard and a playful canine companion in his new home. Leo can't wait to meet you!

She’s roughly 7/8 but unsure. She’s super cuddly and loves kids. Listens well, leash and off leashed trained. Crate trained but can be Houdini. House trained. Loves to run and play. Loves being outside. She would be great as an only pet. She doesn’t bark much. She’s a jumper when excited. But will sit, might take work.

Story
I took in Bingo a Mid-January 2025. I took him in temporarily from someone who needed to rehome him ASAP. I can't keep him as I have cats and he is NOT good with cats. Bingo is a love who enjoys belly rubs, but his favorite thing to do is run and explore outside. He enjoys chasing squeaky balls, but hasn't learned out to bring them back. He'd enjoy an active family especially if they have a tall fenced in yard (not required, but must be active). He may enjoy another dog to play with. He is pretty quiet (I haven't heard him make a sound yet), but may take time to adjust being home alone. He is crate trained and can come with his crate, toys, and bowls. Bingo is a underweight, but is gaining quickly. I assume he just wasn't fed enough as he's very food motivated.

Story
Do you KNOW and love the husky breeds? Are you a single-dog kind of person, with no desire for other animals in your life? Elfie could be the perfect dog for you! Husky experience, and love of the classic sassiness that the breed exemplifies, is a requirement for her next home. Elfie came to us when her prior home was not a good match for her because she is not good around other animals. She`s done well with humans, but this small package has a high prey drive, and should not be around other animals. She did not do well meeting other dogs in her prior home, and while with us she has also made it clear she does not want dog friends, so we are looking for a home where she can be the only animal.Elfie would do best with older kids (teenagers and up), and likes to cuddle, on her terms. She relaxes nicely in a crate, as long as there are no other animals around, and enjoys couch time getting belly rubs.Elfie is smart as a whip, and really enjoys learning new things with force-free training. She has a bit of the typical husky aloofness, but is also very attentive to the people she loves.A consultation with our Behavior Specialist is included in Elfie`s $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about her, and to determine if you should meet Elfie.
