Story
Luke and his sister Leia are so happy they even smile! He is a playful, ~4 year old purebred longhaired Siberian husky and was rescued from a high-kill Southern California shelter. He is fully vetted, spayed/neutered, house trained, dog door trained, non-destructive, and know basic commands and some tricks. He loves car rides, dogs of all sizes, dog park, walks, all people, and being brushed. Luke loves water and will play in sprinklers and pools all summer long, and has even swam in chilly high Sierra lakes. As a husky, he should be on leash in most environments but occasionally deep in the woods the has enjoyed some off leash times to go swimming. He is very adventurous and even loves going into stores, to the groomers, and to the vet. Luke has a strong prey drive would do best in a home without cats or other animals. Luke is also vocal and will tell you about how he feels. He is very bonded with his sister Leia do best if they got to stay together. As long haired huskies they need to be regularly brushed or professionally groomed. Luke also has a torn ligament in his back right leg so if he goe into a very active hiking or jogging type home that should be fixed and his surgery is sponsored. Luke would prefer just to lounge around and have easy walks so it would be up to the adopter if he should undergo the ligament repair. He is great at the groomers and enjoys the blow drier the most. So much they will ask to be blow dried with yard blowers and vacuumed if you are cleaning up around the house. Story
Look at those eyes!!! Balto is a kind, older gentleman who is a bit nervous initially but does warm up. He came from Washoe County after being dropped in the night drop at the shelter. He loves pets once he feels comfortable and seems to do well with other dogs. He would love nothing more than a large yard to relax in and someone to provide his a safe and loving home. If you are interested in meeting him, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org and text 775-338-6631 or 775-846-3773.March 9, 2025, 5:31 pm

Story
Gunther, at about six years old, is a playful and curious pup. He enjoys staying active with plenty of playtime and walks. He's a loyal and loving dog who thrives on being around his family, whether they're out exploring or relaxing at home. His easygoing personality makes him a great match for another dog, and he would do best in a household with another dog. His ideal home would be family who is experienced with Huskies or high-energy breeds. A home with a large, secure yard for him to run and play. Hi is great with children, including small kids, and would do well in a family with young or older children. If you are interested in meeting Gunther, please fill out an application on our website and text 775-338-6631 or 775-846-3773.January 27, 2025, 3:31 pm

Story
Luke and Leia are so happy they even smile! These playful ~4 year old purebred longhaired Siberian huskies were rescued from a high-kill Southern California shelter. DNA has shown that they are in fact siblings&#194&#151just like Star Wars. They are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, house trained, dog door trained, non-destructive, and know basic commands and some tricks. Both dogs love car rides, dogs of all sizes, dog park, walks, all people, being brushed, and Leia loves her ball and a husky version of fetch (sometimes it comes back and sometimes the ball goes with her instead). Unlike most huskies they love water and will play in sprinklers and pools all summer long, both have even swam in chilly high Sierra lakes. As huskies they should be on leash in most environments but occasionally deep in the woods they have enjoyed some off leash times to go swimming. They are so adventurous they even love going into stores, to the groomers, and to the vet. Luke has a strong prey drive and they would do best in a home without cats or other animals. Luke is also vocal and will tell you about how he feels. They are bonded with each other and have been together their entire lives would do best if they got to stay together. As long haired huskies they need to be regularly brushed or professionally groomed. Luke also has a torn ligament in his back right leg so if they go into a very active hiking or jogging type home that should be fixed and his surgery is sponsored.
