Story
To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Hi I'm Chief and I'm excited to meet you! I'm a beautiful fluffy husky with the most mesmerizing eyes - one is auburn and one is parti-colored blue and auburn! Did you know parti-eyes are the most rare? I recently fell upon hard times when my owner passed away and I'm anxious to have my own family again. In the meantime, I've been living with other huskies and I do well with them and love to play. I also love food! Like a typical husky, I'm bouncy and have lots of energy! Do I sound like best friend material? Story
To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Are you looking for an exotic pet, rather than an ordinary husky? LOOK at me! I might be mixed with sugar glider or flying squirrel! I'm soooo cute and truly one of a kind! I'm a happy go lucky medium to high energy pup. I want to play all the time, especially with other dogs! I get along great with the other husky in my foster home. I don't guard my food, toys or snacks, but I can occasionally be a little bossy. I'm learning better manners! I know how to use a doggie door and I am potty trained. I've been trusted unsupervised in the house with no problems. I'm smart, trainable, and I walk nicely on a leash. I like to chase and bark at kitties, so I do need a home without any of those! My foster pawrent says I'm just great and describes me as an easy dream dog! Maybe I'm your fantasy pup? To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Hello there! Cindy Lou here, reporting for duty and cheer! I’m looking to be a new addition to a family, and if you’re reading this, there’s a possibility we’re a perfect match for each other! I’m a super sweet girl, very cuddly. I love to snuggle and jump on laps! My foster says that I’ve got cuddles that would make even the Grinch blush! Turns out, I’d also be really good at a race up or down the Grinch’s mountain, too! I’m very athletic. With that, I’ve become a bit of a jumper, so it’s probably best we get a tall fence in my life, ASAP. Additionally, as much as my snuggles could tame the Grinch, I don’t love to snuggle with everything. Turns out I’ve got a very big prey drive with smaller animals (like cats) or other animals who are not like me. It would be best that I only go to a home where there are only similar-sized dogs. No cats or other animals, please! With all of that, if you’re looking for a lovely lady to go on adventures with, maybe even test your athletic ability alongside mine, then fill out an application for me, Cindy Lou!To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com October 27, 2024, 7:18 pm

Story
To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Hi I'm Pippi Longstocking!  I'm a happy, easy houseguest! I like lounging around in my foster mom's office while she works. I'm potty trained and have not had an accident here! I am also kennel trained! I go in my kennel bedroom for a treat and I'm quiet all night. I don't even make a fuss when my foster dad leaves at 5am. If you're looking for a dog who lets you get good,  uninterrupted sleep, I'm your girl!   I am mostly neutral with other dogs. I do well living with them as roommates but I'm not looking for a playmate. I'm a people dog, and  more happy to follow my favorite human around all day!   I can be kind of mouthy and grabby with treats which might be a bit much for kids so I'd prefer an adults only home. I'm also not a big fan of high energy, bouncy, screaming kids which you might relate to!    I have heartworm and I will be undergoing treatment while in my foster home. I will receive my first injection at the end of March. Because of this my exercise is restricted currently, but my foster family is doing lots of quieter enrichment activities with me and  giving me lots of love (which I return tenfold!). If you're ready to claim me as your new constant companion, you can go ahead and put it an app and mention Pippi! To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com October 27, 2024, 7:18 pm

I'm strong and sweet with a shot of espresso for energy! I'm still just a youngster and I'm looking for someone to teach me all the things. I came to rescue in Arkansas on a plane from Mississippi! I had lots of kinds of wormies that made me not feel the greatest, but now I'm healthy and happily doing normal fun puppy stuff! I love playing with my littermate siblings. I also love food ... so much that I need to eat separately from other dogs so I don't start an argument. I am ready to find my forever home. Could it be with you?? Story
Introducing Nyx!  She is a Siberian Husky/Cattle Dog mix, born appx August 2020.  Nyx is looking for an active home where she can spend a lot of time with her new family.  She knows how to fetch, knows some commands and is leash trained.  She loves to spend time outside and needs a fenced yard so she can explore and chase squirrels!!  Nyx is happiest when on the move and going on adventures.  At nap time, she will enjoy hanging out with you on the couch.  She doesn't like to be left alone or kenneled, but she is crate trained and should be crated if she's left alone at home.  Nyx is friendly with everyone including strangers and kids of all ages. The suggested adoption donation for Nyx is $375, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Here comes Plums, born August 2023.  She has quite a lineage - her mom was Husky/Border Collie and her dad Labrador/Golden Retriever.  Plums is leash trained and would love to have a fenced yard with room to play.  She is fearless and will climb, jump and run with a ton of enthusiasm.  She might make a great agility dog with the right person and training!  She also knows some commands and fetches.  Plums is kennel trained, but she really needs exercise before being left in her kennel or she gets antsy.  She is still pretty young after all!!  She is active and the zoomies happen almost daily.  She is friendly with older kids (age 6+) and strangers.  She would prefer to have another dog or cat around (will possibly need slow introductions to other fur-friends).  If Plums sound like your canine match made in heaven, apply today! The suggested adoption donation for Plums is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Snowball is a beautiful white Husky, born 2019.  The perfect home would be one with another dog and/or kids and ACTIVITY.  He is used to constant interaction with others.  He loves car rides, so he would be great with owners who are on the go.  Snowball requires humans who are able to provide him with the exercise he needs.  He is accustomed to 5 short walks a day and needs run time in a fenced yard or the dog park.  You can expect Snowball to follow you around and express his love for you much of the day! Snowball gets along with other dogs, strangers and kids of all ages.  He is leash trained and knows some commands.  He would enjoy having another dog or cat around.  He prefers to spend all his time with his humans and howls when crated (although he does not destroy anything or have accidents while in the crate).   If you're looking for a 'Snowball' to be your shadow, then this Husky just might be for YOU!! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation. If you are new to German Shepherds (and other herding breeds), please research the breed to make sure this is the dog for you. We ask that you consider the time and financial commitment that your German Shepherd (or other herding breed) dog will require before applying for one. Please review the section on our website (www.heartlandgsrescue.org) 'Is a HUGS Dog Right for You?' for additional information.Arctic is one 8 puppies in the Winter Litter. She is a beautiful red Siberian Husky puppy who starts off a bit shy but quickly turns into an adorable, chatty little boss! She’s brave, loves trying new things, and has a bit of a mischievous side—think blanket thief and shoe bandit! She sings herself to sleep (Husky owners, you know what that means!) and has been trying to win over her senior German Shepherd foster brother, even if he’s not convinced just yet. This girl is absolutely precious! The adoption fee for the puppies from the Winter Litter is $450, all of which goes back into offseting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs. We are a 100% volunteer-run rescue group and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (and treated if positive), and microchipped. New to Huskies? Huskies are typically fun, friendly, beautiful dogs. They also tend to be strong-willed and independent (not ideal for first-time dog owners, as they can be stubborn and hard to train). Like GSDs, they require good exercise and socialization, a job to do, a good routine, and they don't like to be left alone too long. It is recommended that you crate your young Husky when you leave, and having another dog in the house as a buddy for your Husky can be helpful. Huskies can be escape artists (digging out, fence jumping) and poor recall - your Husky should always be well-supervised and on a leash when not in a securely-fenced area. Huskies have high prey drive for small animals (wildlife, sometimes cats, and at times even smaller dogs). Like GSDs, Huskies shed A LOT (good brushing, and vacuming the house will be necessary). Please do not shave them, as they need their coat: their fur provides a natural heating/cooling mechanism that keeps them from overheating, shades them from sunburn and UV rays, and provides a barrier against allergens that could aggravate skin conditions and allergies.   Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply. The Winter Litter puppies will need positive reinforcement training, consistency, boundaries, activity and socialization. Their ideal homes will be households with good routines, prior Husky or similar breed experience, and a friendly doggy sibling to help teach them the ropes. Like any of our dogs, the Winter Litter puppies will make a great addition to active homes that will provide the love, structure, activity and mental stimulation that their breed requires. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, please remember that you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings, in order to provide sufficient stimulation, ward off boredom, and work on leash skills and manners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please review the information in the 'About Us', 'Important Considerations' and 'Adopt' sections on our website menu, as it contains useful information about the breed, adoption fees, the adoption process and our requirements, and how meeting the dogs works.January 25, 2025, 5:09 pm

He is a stunning, fluffy red big Siberian Husky boy, and he might be one the chillest puppies in the bunch. But don’t be fooled, this gorgeous boy still has plenty of Husky energy! He’s sweet, laid-back for a puppy, and full of personality. He loves people and isn’t afraid to serenade you with his signature Husky howl when he wants something.
