Story
All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested (6 months and above) and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to choose from at the shelter as well. If the pet you fall in love with is not quite ready for adoption, we do offer a $50 hold deposit that will insure you have first "dibs" on adoption. Once an animal is available for adoption, we are not able to hold them, as there are so many animals waiting to come into our program. Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays. You are welcome to fill out our quick 10 question adoption survey to facilitate a quicker process. This will also start the meeting process for those animals in foster. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MARQ/Dog

Story
Ahhh.... the many moods of Cheech! This boy has been practicing all his poses, including a classic husky-mix smile! He arrived at KCPP with some slight injuries, but even so, was sweet upon arrival. He is new to the shelter and understandably has been a bit selective with his doggy friends at playgroup so far. He`d love to meet any potential doggy siblings before going home to ensure a good match for everyone, just like all our dogs.Cheech is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.

Story
6 year old Quinley is a gorgeous girl who has a tail that never stops wagging. She’s happy to give us a sit and a down on command and this smart pup likely knows more commands as well.Like all of our dogs, she would love to meet any potential canine siblings before heading home to make sure that it’s a great match. She was found as a stray so we don’t have any information about her previous life but we know that she can’t wait to be in a loving home. Could that be with you?Quinley is currently living in a foster home. If you would like more information, or to meet her please email foster@kcpetpetproject.comShe is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped.

Story
Juneau is a purebred Malamute. Inherent to the breed, female Malamutes try to establish alpha dominance of the pack. Juneau has been to training to correct these behaviors and has been a great playmate with Bullet, the Silver Lab. It is possible that some behavior correction may be necessary introducing Juneau to a family with an existing dog. She is a lover of people and has never been aggressive to kids or people, but Juneau will need a new owner that understands the Malamute breed and can identify/correct dominance behavior. Juneau is my baby and I sorely hate to part ways with her, but unfortunately my recent circumstances will not allow me to keep her. I would dearly love to see both of our fur babies be adopted together, as they adore one another and are glued at the hip. It will be a big adjustment for both of them to be separated. We do have a cat that Juneau has been around since we first brought into the family. She gets along with our cat, but unsure about other cat
