Story
Apollo is a sweet loving boy who just wants a companion to play with and give him pets. He’s good with our toddlers, but now with a baby we can’t keep up with him. He loves playing tug of war and following his person. He is fixed and house trained. He does good with dogs and learns pretty quickly.

Story
Meet Creed, the four-legged rockstar ready to bring some serious “Can You Take Me Higher?” energy into your life. A Siberian Husky–German Shepherd mix with enough spirit, stamina, and charisma to headline his own world tour, this striking boy doesn’t just move—he commands the stage with every step. Carrying the same bold energy that made the band Creed unforgettable, he’s equal parts powerhouse and heartthrob, searching for a committed fan who can truly keep up with the hits. With the intelligence of a Shepherd and the electrifying drive of a Husky, Creed is not a dog for beginners—he’s for someone who knows how to guide a superstar. He thrives on an active lifestyle and lives for adventure: long, purposeful walks, energetic play sessions, and mental challenges that keep his mind engaged. This boy doesn’t do “low energy”—he lives life with the volume turned all the way up.Because of his energy level and training needs, Creed is not a good fit for a mobile home community and would not do well in a tethered environment. He needs room to move, structure to grow, and an owner who understands that exercise and training are non-negotiable parts of his daily routine. Creed would do best in a home without young children, or with older, dog-savvy kids who can respect his space and match his enthusiasm.Creed is looking for a dedicated, experienced, and active family who can provide consistent training, clear boundaries, and plenty of physical and mental stimulation. In return, he’ll reward you with loyalty deeper than any power ballad and companionship worthy of a platinum record. If you’re ready for a dog who will keep you moving, challenge you in the best ways, and turn everyday life into a highlight reel, Creed is ready to take center stage in your home. With him by your side, every moment feels like an encore. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $150

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lupin is a lovely pup with a lot of energy. He loves to run around the yard and loves going camping. He is good with adults and older children (10 and up) but not so much with younger kids. Lupin gets along with other dogs but only for a short period of time until he kicks into alpha mode and starts to push them around. He absolutely cannot be around cats. We love Lupin to death and wish we could keep him but we have been trying to acclimate him to our 2 year old son for the last 2 years and it just isn't working. It is in the best interest of ourselves and Lupin that we find him a forever home where he doesn't have to be separated from his family and can live freely amongst them. Please Contact Lupin's owner directly with the contact information below. Owner will be asking for a home visit meet and greet as well as rehoming fee. thekochuts@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.   Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.   Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.   MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.   If you would like to donate please send donation to: MMAR Box 180155 Utica, MI 48318   Donate online at https://www.sanilacscoopers.org/   Please email us at mmarpaws@gmail.com for additional information or to set up special appointments March 29, 2025, 6:47 am

Story
Meet Noodles (a.k.a. Nancy)! Hello there! My name is Noodles, but when I get a little mischievous, you can call me Nancy! I was found as a stray in Detroit, and let’s just say it’s been quite a journey. When I first came into rescue, I was shutdown and didn’t know how to be a dog. I was scared of leashes and even of humans. But with lots of love and patience, I’ve come so far and am now ready to find my perfect family! We are unsure exactly how old I am and a lady never discloses that real information, but we're guessing I am around 6 years old. Also, a lady never says her weight, so let's just say I am less than a baby Rhino's weight . Another words, I'm perfectly imperfect.  I’ll be honest—sometimes I’m still a scaredy cat and fear my own shadow. But when I’m with my favorite humans, I shine ! It may take me some time to trust you, but I can assure you I am worth the wait! When you are my person, you are the love of my life. I am forever unconditionally yours. You will never have another loyal best friend like me.  I’m housebroken and sleep wherever I feel most comfortable—whether it’s curled up on the bed, snuggled on the floor, or snuggled in my own bed. Have you heard of Noodle sandwich? It's when my two favorite people are on each side of me giving me hugs and kisses! It's one of my absolute favorite lovins time.  While I rarely bark, I do let my humans know when it’s potty time or when I’m ready for some fun. The outdoors? Well, I’m not a big fan, to be honest. I’ll tell you when I’m ready to come back inside, thank you very much! An introverted home is my dream, and I would thrive with a family who understands my need for a quiet, calm environment. I’m not into exercise or long walks—what I really want is a cozy fenced yard where I can enjoy the fresh air while staying cool inside. I tend to get stressed around small children, so older humans or a quiet household without kids would be the best fit for me. Oh, and I prefer to be the only pet in the house—I really don’t like sharing attention! It's not that I am aggressive with other dogs. It's simple, I am an introvert and do not wish to socialize with other four-legged kind. Sadly, when I was found, the vet discovered I was heartworm positive. Thankfully, I have gone through heartworm treatment and am now ready to enjoy my life with a loving family. I’m looking for humans who appreciate the retirement lifestyle, those who want to relax at home, and perhaps not have a lot of company over. If you think you could be the perfect person to help me live my best life, I can’t wait to meet you!     DewormedHeartworm Survivor!Receiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedSpayed ADOPTION FEE: SPONSORED IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Story
Nikita is a good boy, we have had some lifestyle changes that require us to be gone more than usual and cannot give him the playtime and attention he deserves. He would do better in a home without other dogs- but if you do have other dogs you would have to slowly introduce the two. He does great with kids, he loves to run so a backyard is a must!

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
