Story
Meet Eliza, a lively adult dog who is as smart as she is friendly. This independent lady has a knack for impressing everyone she meets with her intelligence and charm. Eliza has mastered commands like `sit`, `paw`, and `speak`, showing off her quick-learning abilities. Her vocal nature makes her an excellent communicator, always letting you know when she`s happy, curious, or just wants a bit of your time. Eliza is food-motivated, which makes training sessions not only productive but also fun. She`s house-broken, too, so you won`t have to worry about any unwanted surprises at home. Eliza loves walks, her tail wags at the mere mention of the word, eagerly awaiting the adventure that lies ahead. Her friendly demeanor and love for exercise make her a perfect companion for those who enjoy outdoor activities. Adopting Eliza means gaining a loyal friend who will not only brighten your days with her cheerful nature but also keep you on your toes with her playful antics.Ideal home for Eliza: - recommend older children, recommend children meet- only dog in home

Loki (yes name after the show) is a 4-year-old Husky with a strong personality and loves to greet you with a special howl. He is chill but can be a bit energetic when he gets excited about the things he loves—for example, going outside to run around in the yard, getting treats, or getting a brand-new toy. Loki can be a bit sassy when he wants but also loving when he needs to be. Ps. Fun fact Loki has Heterochromia (one blue eye and the other brown)

Story
Hello! My name is PooLou. I talk like a husky but I don't bark much. I have spent my life traveling the U.S. I love long walks and car rides. I have excellent leash manners and am an easy walker. I’m a friendly guy but I will chase small animals, so I need to be walked on a leash. I’m looking for a new home because I got into a fight with my brother I was living with. My foster mom has since got me neutered. I would do best in a house with no dogs and no cats. I’m looking for someone with an active lifestyle, since I’ve been out exploring daily my whole life. Running around the fenced in yard isn’t going to cut it. Age: 5 years Sex: Male - neutered Weight: 65 lbs Breed: My dad was a Great Pyrenees. My mother was a Rhodesian Ridgeback X Bluetick Hound X Black Mouth Cur x Husky X Blue Heeler X Catahoula

Story
Meet Lily! She’s a beautiful blue eyed, loving dog who is ready to find her forever home! Lily is 1yr old and 50lbs. Lily would likely do well with other large dogs and has a natural, friendly demeanor that makes her a great companion. She’s also wonderful with kids and loves spending time with them! She may even prefer kids over adults! Lily LOVES to play outside and is having a blast in the snow. While she’s still working on potty training, she’s making great progress and is eager to learn. She’s not a huge fan of the crate but trying hard everyday. With a little patience and encouragement, she’s sure to become the perfect addition to any family. If you’re looking for a sweet and affectionate pup, Lily might just be the one for you! Hypnotized by this gorgeous girl? Apply to adopt at underdogrescueranch.com/adopt

Story
Trinity is a very pretty Husky mix with blue eyes. She is currently fostered with other dogs in an adult home. We don't know how she is around young children but older kids should be fine. She is smart, energetic and playful and might be a good companion for another dog or is fine as an only dog. Trinity loves human attention and interaction. Those interested should be familiar with the breed. She would enjoy going on walks with someone willing to give her lots of love and attention. Trinity is microchipped. We think she is about 2 years old.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet Baron, a majestic Husky/Malamute mix with a noble spirit. At 2.5 years old and neutered, Baron is ready to start a new chapter with a family that understands his breed. Baron is very social with other dogs and loves belly rubs. He walks well on a leash and is non-leash reactive, making him great for outings. He crates well at night, is potty trained, and knows commands like sit, shake, high five, and touch. He's eager to learn more tricks! Baron’s wooly coat requires regular brushing and professional grooming to keep him comfortable and healthy. Prospective adopters need to understand the grooming commitment and the unique needs of his breed. Baron's new home should not have children under 15, cats, or small dogs. While Baron is a sweet and loving dog, he does have a few quirks that come with his personality. He can be a bit of a resource guarder when it comes to high-value treats and food, so his new family should be mindful of this behavior and provide him with proper training and boundaries. Additionally, Baron can be grumbly and a tad moody at times, but if you’re familiar with the Husky breed, you’ll know this checks out as part of his charm. Husky Breed Insights: Huskies are known for their even temperament, love for other dogs, and indifference to strangers, making them excellent companions for active families. They maintain a playful, puppy-like energy well into adulthood and exhibit a zest for life that few breeds can match. Every outing feels like a brand-new adventure for a Husky, and they often express their excitement with what owners affectionately call the "zoomies." These dogs excel in roles that require focus and determination. Originally bred to work, Huskies thrive when given tasks or engaging in activities like mushing, ski-joring, or bikejoring. A tired Husky is a happy Husky, and many owners find that channeling their energy into "jobs" helps them stay balanced and content. That said, Huskies can be a challenge for first-time dog owners. They require extensive training and daily exercise to maintain good behavior. Huskies often have independent minds and short attention spans, but with the right dedication, they become loyal and reliable companions. Those willing to invest time and energy into a Husky will be rewarded with a one-of-a-kind, personality-packed dog. Requirements for Baron's new family: Experience with Husky/Malamute breeds Commitment to regular grooming Understanding of breed-specific behaviors and needs No children under 15, cats, or small dogs If you meet these requirements, Baron could be the perfect addition to your home. Important Note: Baron had entropion surgery to correct his eyelids. His new family should monitor his eye health as part of his ongoing care. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. January 24, 2025, 4:00 pm
