Zuka will be turning one in January. She definitely needs lots of space and lots of exercise since huskies are working dogs. She needs a fenced yard or else her mischievous self will go out and explore. Zuka does good with other dogs, she is also best if she has a friend to play with. She is non aggressive and loves to be outdoors to get all her energy out!

Story
Mel is not just gorgeous, he's SMART! This 3-year old husky is a goofball, and does quite well meeting new people. He rides in cars with good manners, and LOVES to hike and explore. He is attentive, and walks well on a leash. Doesn't seem to get rattled by much, including wildlife like squirrels and birds. As typical for a husky, he does need grooming/brushing with season changes, and an outlet for exercise on a regular basis (such as walks, or a fenced in backyard). He does enjoy chill time, too, and getting pets and attention from staff. He is a quick learner, and treat motivated. Keeps his area neat, and prefers to go potty outdoors. One look in his big blue eyes, and you'll be mesmerized! Mel is ready to go home! He's neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and heartworm negative.

Story
I met Skye when she was a baby, that was almost 7 yrs ago. A family friends Dachshund met a neighbors husky and together they created skye, her brothers and sisters. I picked her out and she has been a sweetheart since then. I was young and craving to have a pet and so I chose Skye. Since then we grew up together and become very close. I am looking for a new loving home for her since I have a demanding job and I moved into a new place that cannot take pets. She needs new owners who have lots of love to give. Unfortunately she is now blind from an incident she had with a skunk about 4 yrs ago. She just needs a new family who will give her a happy life. I have not been able to achievement that for her. I am looking for someone who can care and love her just as much if not more.

Chewy is a sweet and energetic 4 year old, Husky who was returned to us through no fault of his own; due to health reasons, his owners are unable to continue to care for him. He has previously gone through heartworm treatment. He would do well in a home with kids, and is open to meeting other dogs, but no cats please! Chewy is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and is currently in foster. If you are interested in adopting Chewy please fill out an application at al-van.org/adopt.

Story
Meet Spunk! He is 2-year-old dog who's full of energy and curiosity! This independent guy loves nothing more than running around outside, chasing toys, and exploring new scents. Spunk walks well on a leash, though his strong build means he might pull a bit when something exciting catches his attention. He’s already mastered the command “sit” and is ready to keep learning. While he enjoys his independence, Spunk is also a sweet and affectionate companion. If you’re looking for an adventurous buddy to share outdoor fun with, Spunk is your dog!   Personality: Independent, curious, playful, sweet Leash Manners: Walks well but occasionally pulls Favorite Activities: Chasing toys, exploring outside, running around Training: Knows the command “sit”   Volunteer Notes: “So sweet!” “Very good dog!” “Such a good boy!” “He’s a great boy, super sweet!”   *Just a heads up, the way dogs behave here at the shelter might not be exactly how they act in a home environment. Dog behavior can change once they find their forever family. These are just our observations from their time at the SPCA of SWMI.* ##2096056##
