Story
Margarita (Margo) Margarita is a Female Husky/Shepherd mix DOB: February of 2022 Adoption fee: $125.00 Not much information was supplied on my past when I arrived at the shelter, other than I had a litter or two of puppies in my past. I was very nervous at first, but the staff was very compassionate and patient with me. I am much more comfortable now. My personality can be somewhat aloof. I am an observer, and I may not be super adventurous until I can trust my handlers. I do not mind getting silly and playful. My puppyhood may not have been a normal happy puppy’s life so as I get more comfortable you will see more and more of that puppy behavior come out. I will require a physically fenced yard. I would do best in a calmer home atmosphere. Older children 12+. I may match with another dog pending a meet and greet. I have not been tested with cats. I have a big heart and I would love a home of my very own. I will be a very loyal companion/friend for the right situation

Story
Meet Spunk! He is 2-year-old dog who's full of energy and curiosity! This independent guy loves nothing more than running around outside, chasing toys, and exploring new scents. Spunk walks well on a leash, though his strong build means he might pull a bit when something exciting catches his attention. He’s already mastered the command “sit” and is ready to keep learning. While he enjoys his independence, Spunk is also a sweet and affectionate companion. If you’re looking for an adventurous buddy to share outdoor fun with, Spunk is your dog!   Personality: Independent, curious, playful, sweet Leash Manners: Walks well but occasionally pulls Favorite Activities: Chasing toys, exploring outside, running around Training: Knows the command “sit”   Volunteer Notes: “So sweet!” “Very good dog!” “Such a good boy!” “He’s a great boy, super sweet!”   *Just a heads up, the way dogs behave here at the shelter might not be exactly how they act in a home environment. Dog behavior can change once they find their forever family. These are just our observations from their time at the SPCA of SWMI.* ##2096056##

Story
A is for all the affection I have to give V is for my vivacious nature E is for easing into new friendships R is for my refreshing outlook on life I is for the incredible adventures we will have together E is for my enthusiasm in everything I do! I hear people-pleasing is supposed to be exhausting....but not for me! Being the young little lady that I am, my potential is as high as your dedication! It is very satisfying to utilize this beautiful brain I have, to make my friends (and my future family) happy. I won't lie to you; I am still growing out of some "puppy habits" (mouthing when I am overly excited) but rest assured, positive redirection and consistency will make for a quick remedy. Because I am still learning my size and appropriate play behavior, I might be best suited for older children that have a sturdy stance. Who needs a television when you could have me to keep you entertained! My enthusiasm is expressed in such a dorky way. I like to zoom around and try my best to impersonate a professional contortionist by folding over like a pretzel with my behind in the air! I am really excited to play with other dogs too, its a great way to let my antics out before we hunker down in bed for the night. Don't wait too long, if you like it....then you should put a collar on it. Take the first steps by submitting your adoption application to the website below! DOB: 2/12/2021 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
Meet Raphael! Raphael is a 2-year-old Wooly Coated Siberian Husky. Before coming to our shelter, he was kept outside in a small kennel and used for breeding. He’s never had a home with a family, and toys, and a yard to run around in. Because of his history, we are working to help him show interest in playing, walking, and just snuggling. He is not affected by other dogs' behaviors here at the shelter. He’s learning what toys are, and he’s learning that human affection can be a really great thing. He needs someone that is ready to take their time to show him how to be a dog. We think that Raphael would do great in a home with another laid-back dog that can show him how to live the good life, in a home with a family. He’s only 2 and has a lot of years ahead of him! Raphael is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, and tested negative for heartworm. Apply for Raphael here! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/signup/664c2ea080ba55b07a0e6299

Story
I've had Poo Bear and his brother Chaco for about 5 years, since they were 8 weeks old. Over those 5 years we have crossed the country countless times in my bus and have had no more than 3 fights, and they always had been quick to make up and be friends again, until about a week ago they got into it and just haven't gone back to normal. They snarl at eachother, hackles go up, etc. Since then I have had to keep them separate there is no way I will be able to take them with me on the road again. Poo Bear just needs a good home, lots of walks and he loves to go for rides, he is great in the car, he's been a road dog his whole life.

Jasper has the husky attitude and must have an experienced owner. He is a very sweet dog once he warms up to you and trust you. Can not be with other animals or children. Can sit, lay down & shake. Leash trained. Loves the sun, treats, squeaky toys and stuffed animals. He will need an adopter that is willing to come meet him a few times to build a bond before adoption.
