Story
Pebbles is a sweet, playful girl who’s working hard on becoming her best self! She’s smart and eager to learn—she already knows sit, shake, and lay down, and she responds to her name. She loves to play, enjoys her daily walks, and doesn’ t let cold weather slow her down.Pebbles is making great progress with housetraining and is already crate-trained. While she’s still figuring out how she feels about new people and dogs, she’s had positive interactions with friendly pups. She’ ll thrive with an adopter who can continue helping her build confidence and channel her energy in positive ways. If you`re looking for a fun, active companion who’s ready to keep learning, Pebbles might be the one for you!You can see more photos and videos of this loveable goofball online here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Zuo1jph6ZBdk9Qdz8Pebbles is a HIDDEN GEM, meaning her adoption fees are $0 thanks to Friends of Montgomery County Animals (FMCA) who have agreed to sponsor her adoption fees!

Story
We do not promote any of our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly. Looking for a hiking buddy with a husky sense of humor? Meet Yogi, a 2-year-old, 50lb whirlwind of energy who's been waiting a little too long to find his forever pack. This 34% Husky, 42% GSD, and 24% Super-mutt is equal parts adventurous explorer and lovable goofball. Here's the lowdown on this one-of-a-kind dog: * Hiker extraordinaire: Forget Netflix marathons, Yogi's idea of a good time involves conquering mountains and chasing squirrels (safely, from a distance, of course). * Shower of affection (literally): Yogi's ecstatic greetings involve either a generous dose of puppy kisses or an enthusiastic offering of his favorite toy. Be prepared for love attacks! * Structured silly goose: He thrives on routine and loves to please, but his Husky roots sometimes manifest in enthusiastic "conversations," especially if you're on the phone. Apartment living might not be his cup of tea, despite his previous foster not getting any complaints (townhouse), we don't want to push it. * Crate-tolerant, treat-motivated: While not a fan of his crate, a few tasty treats can work wonders in convincing him to settle in. * Aloofness is his charm (maybe): He might seem a bit aloof at times, but don't be fooled, this goofball loves nothing more than being around his humans. He might occasionally test boundaries, but his loyalty and intelligence make him a joy to train. * Mood reader extraordinaire: Yogi picks up on your vibes like nobody's business. Feeling nervous? He'll sense it. Feeling adventurous? He's ready to explore! Just remember, training is key, especially when meeting new people, as his excitement can get the best of him. Yogi might not be the perfect fit for everyone, but for the right family, he'll be the most loyal, loving, and adventurous companion they could ask for. Story
Gudan is an extremely docile dog and a great companion. He knows basic commands like sit and give paw. He is potty trained. He requires a lot of maintenance due to him having two coats of hair. We normally brush him everyday for about 30min. Gudan also requires a lot of time outside, we used to be able to take him to the dog park twice a day and let him run around for about an hour. But, due to our newborn, we don't have enough time for him anymore and are unable to give him the attention he needs.

Story
Hi, I’m Toby! I’m a 2-year-old Siberian Husky mix, and I have the most beautiful red and white coat that’ll stop you in your tracks. At 48 lbs., I’m a nice size — not too big, but big enough to keep you warm during chilly nights! I’ve got those striking Husky eyes and an adventurous spirit, and I’m always up for a good run or a fun play session. My tail wags pretty much all the time because I’m just so excited about life! I wasn’t always in this awesome place, though. I was surrendered by my previous owner in South Carolina because they couldn’t afford to care for me anymore. That was a tough time but I’m not letting it get me down. I’m ready to start fresh and find my forever home, one that will love me and take care of me like I deserve. I’m also working on gaining a little weight — I could use a few extra pounds to get to my best self, but I’m on the right track! Here’s what you really need to know about me: I am super people-friendly! I get along with everyone. I am very outgoing and affectionate - when I am in a home, I make myself very comfortable right away! I am very gentle and do great with kids. One of my favorite pastimes is playing with toys, napping on the couch (so I would LOVE my own little bed if possible please...unless you want to share yours!), and snuggling. I am totally open to grooming and don't mind it at all; as long as you give me lots of love, and treats are great too, grooming is no problemo! I am working on my housetraining and crate training and am doing quite well. The nice people at AHOTO say I catch on very quickly. I'm quite smart if I don't say so myself! Now, cats are meant to be chased, so if you have a cat, I'm probably not the right pup for you...unless you're not a fan of your cat! Also, I am fine when other dogs are around from afar, but I will do best as an only dog in my home. I prefer that it just be my people and me! Since I have been bounced around a lot, I do have some separation anxiety. My new home will need to be patient with me and someone will need to be home at all times...at least at the beginning...until I am able to tolerate being left alone. AHOTO will guide my new people and suggest a great trainer to help with my separation anxiety training. The last home I was in said my separation anxiety was starting to decrease in just a week's time. My people will need patience and give me extra love and follow training advice so we can all be successful and live our best lives together! I promise to fill your life with love, laughs, and lots of snuggles! Come meet me soon — I’m ready to find my forever family ##2230431##

Story
Meet Flynn, the most handsome, loving, work in progress you'll ever meet! Flynn is a 2-year-old Husky mix. Flynn is stunningly handsome and absolutely adores his people and other dogs, but because of a few quirks, will require a patient adopter. We are unsure exactly what this boy went through in his early days, but it's obvious, it wasn't nice. While Flynn holds no grudges against humans, he is extremely timid. It takes Flynn time to warm up to anyone new. He seems much more at ease around women and children, though does warm up to men...eventually. He enjoys going to the dog park where he has become a superstar - romping and playing with the other dogs. He loves going for walks with his canine foster siblings. Flynn isn't a fan of being left alone but does find comfort in his canine foster siblings in these situations. Flynn's ideal home will have someone home for a good part of the day, at least one other confident dog to help him adjust, and a fenced yard because this fella loves the outdoors and lounging in the sun! He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, and ready to find his forever home! This dog's adoption fee is $400. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
This adorable blue eyed brown eyed Husky baby has stolen our hearts . ( And we know she will steal yours!) Luciana ( Lucy for short) will play with anything and anybody all day long. Lucy even entertains herself with her toys and brings them with her as she makes her way around the house. She is a husky girl, so energy is her middle name. Prior experience with them and an active household would be great for her. She understands potty training and will alert when she needs to go out but pay attention. This 4 month old 28 pounder can sleep thru the night and does seem to be good in her crate She adores other dogs but an older dog might be kinda over her desire to be in your face a lot! Great with kids, learning leash walking and how to get attention without jumping or grabbing. Her fur is soft, her eyes are beautiful and her heart is full of love. Ready for her?? The adoption fee for this dog is $500 If you are viewing on Petfinder and unable to view photos or would like to apply for this dog, please visit our website www.frecklesfoundation.org. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. If you are viewing on Petfinder and cannot see photos or would like to apply for this dog please visit our website, www.frecklesfoundation.org. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
Selene is about 2 yrs old, 35lbs, spayed, up to date on vaccines, potty trained, loves her daily structured walks, and is learning commands! She was picked up as a stray in Southern CA by control officers with catchpoles, and tossed into one of the highest-kill shelters in America. She was Urgent/Deadlined with a scheduled euthanasia time (due to no space and the homeless pet crisis). So, she came to us across the country! Thank you to @lonelypawsadoptions! If you are interested in adopting her, live in the DMV area, have Husky experience, utilize positive reinforcement training, have a very active lifestyle, and want to spoil her too - let us know! Selene is still gaining her confidence with new people and animals. Since she has been with us she has learned how to play with toys, knows her name, sit, shake, lay down, come, etc! She is very sweet with our family and incredibly smart! She is quirky, fun, and just great!
