Story
IDGSR Welcomes NANUK into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Howdy! My name is Nanuk and I'm the most handsome 1yr old male Husky you'll ever meet! I'm located near Greeneville TN and am available for transport. Quick Facts: Age - 1yr old Home - home with a fenced in yard Kids - good with kids of all ages Dogs - great with dogs Cats - cat friendly! Training - would benefit from standard obedience training 1. I found myself in a high-kill shelter but thankfully IDGSR came to my rescue!! 2. My foster mom says I'm the absolute bestest boy! I'm nice, polite, friendly, relatively calm for a Husky, and overall so great. 3. In my previous home, I was raised with young kids! If you have young kiddos in the home, with proper supervision we will get along just fine. 4. I'm also CAT FRIENDLY!! I was raised with cats and also interacted with cats at the shelter. I tend to ignore them, they do scare me a little if they swat those paws at me. 5. I love to play in the play yard with the other foster dogs. I love attention, treats, and to be loved on. 6. I would make a great walking, hiking, or active partner! Really, I'll go anywhere and do anything as long as I'm with you. **SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY! If you are not 100% ready to adopt, please wait** ************** ***IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION*** -ALL dogs are fostered in TENNESSEE unless otherwise noted -We do transport dogs to the east coast; a transport fee will apply -All dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations, heart-worm testing, monthly preventatives, & are spayed or neutered -Puppies under 6-months of age will require a SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACT, a portion of the adoption fee will be refunded upon documentation of the spay/neuter -An application must be submitted before scheduling an appointment to meet a dog -Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY -Due to the high volume of emails we receive, first priority will be given to those with submitted applications -All rescue work is done by dedicated volunteers, please be respectful of their time -Not able to adopt? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. THEO was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and  arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 14th February. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue to meet and then hopefully take home. THEO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly flea/tick prevention and was given the 12 month pro-heart heartworm prevention injection in February 2025. He is microchipped and on 12 February weighed 50.20 pounds. He has an estimated date of birth of December 2022.  We do not know what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. Theo does have "Partial Heterochromia, also referred to as Sectoral Heterochromia" which is when part of the iris is a different colour than the rest of the eye. In Theo's case, it is the ice blue, which is common in the husky breeds and adds a beautiful uniqueness to his already stunning face. The shelter volunteer (21 January) stated friendly but a bit nervous as well, approached me, sniffed my hands and allowed me to pet him, offered him a treat but was not interested in them, semi walks on leash, would try pulling back licking his lips.  (25 January) he came out to the yard and was freezing to greets and was very unsure not understanding what was going on because he would just try to stay on his own wanting to get away from the other dogs.   (Rescue comments - it is important to take into account when reading these comments that these dogs are in a strange environment with a lot of dogs, and they are learning about each other in a very small space of time, it is high stimulation environment, also often the first time they have had exercise with other dogs.  Comments are from volunteers, not trainers or behavio rists). We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. THEO is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550, as noted he is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet boy. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Story
Meet Zuko!He might not be able to fire bend, but he can bend his way into your heart! Zuko LOVES going for walks, meeting new people, and singing the song of his people! He`s your typical husky; he loves to play and loves his food! Making him an ideal participant in training; he could use a refresher on some leash manners. He does know sit and responds to his name (When his husky ears want to work)! As for cats, Zuko doesn`t understand the size difference and tends to pick on them and we feel it would be unsafe to have him live with cats. (We are affraid he will hurt them on accident due to the reports from a previous owner) Children you ask? Zuko doesn`t have an age restriction, but KVHS is recommending rough and tumble kids; he can be a bit jumpy sometimes! Zuko will prefer to be the only dog in the home because he likes to have the last word on all things, though he could potentially go home with an extremely submissive dog who won`t stick up for themselves.Interested in meeting Zuko? Swing on down to KVHS during available adoption hours!

Story
We are so excited to present our beautiful Husky mix girl.named Asia to a gentle and loving family.  This beautiful girl with the most stunning blue eyes, has risen from some very difficult times in her life. After having raised a beautiful litter of puppies.  Asia is 2 years old and weighs 47 pounds. She is eight very sweet natured girl who has just discovered toys and the joy of hearing them squeak as she plays with them.   She is living in a foster home with a senior Australian. Shepherd mick's mail and she is very respectful of his age in his calmness. Asia loves to go for walks and is very good on the leash and extremely good in the house when her foster, mom is gone to work. Asia checks all the boxes. When it comes to being a good girl, that is housebroken, knows good house manners and shares her living space sweetly with a gentle, senior dog.  When she looks at you with those beautiful blue eyes, she has so much to say from the depth of her soul. Asia has always longed for a home of her own, and people that were kind to her. She didn't have this in the past and Critter, Cavalry took her and her puppies from a bad situation and promised her a new start with a very special life.  We are searching high and low for that now.  Asia is not a high energy girl, nor is she a big barker or noisy talker.  She is a fun girl to have around and very easy going. She is not an anxious girl at all. If you are looking for a dog that will adore you and be grateful every day for what you give her, please consider adopting her.  Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and mention where you live, city and state. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 5, 2025, 9:26 pm
