Story
Chilli is a super duper sweet and loving, 10-month old female. The father is a purebred husky and mother is a 2 year old lab mix we rescued (they said she was fixed, she was not lol). We had a home lined up for Chilli but it fell through and even though she’s so sweet we can’t just can’t give her the attention she deserves. She LOVES cuddles and belly rubs, does great with kids and other dogs. She is very high energy and very very fast so she really needs to be somewhere with a fence or in a situation where she would get lots of exercise. She has been spayed and had her rabies vaccine. We haven’t been able to commit the time to train her but she’s smart and seems very trainable. She really just wants to be someone’s best furry friend!!

Story
Ghost is a three year old Husky. He has been through training, but I do not enforce daily training, so he knows and understands commands, but they will need to be reinforced. Ghost has been in an environment with other dogs and he is overly playful.

Story
Kyle is our longest term canine resident, but luckily he lives in a foster home and thrives on his routine there. Though he doesn't know his star sign, Kyle thinks he is probably a Virgo; he likes order and predictability! He knows just when it is time to go to his crate or outside for his walk, and he'd probably send you a calendar invite for those events if he could. Kyle is incredibly affectionate with his people, wanting to give kisses and sit in their laps. He makes some very funny noises, often sounding like the grouchy old man he is on the inside. He is quite smart and quick to offer a paw in exchange for a treat. Except...it better be the kind he likes, or he'll spit it out. Kyle lives with a male dog and two cats in his foster home. His foster reports that he mostly co-exists and doesn't care much to play with his dog sibling. If interested in Kyle, please email our Outreach and Behavior Coordinator Emily Herr at herre@bloomington.in.gov

Story
We'd be willing to bet you've never seen a dog like Zeus! He is quite the combination of husky and...something! Imagine waking up to this derpy goof every day; you'd be sure to wake up with a smile! From Zeus's foster dad:Zeus didn’t do well in the shelter. He couldn’t cope with all the noise and activity and smells, and was a trembling wreck, so the shelter got him into foster care. In just a couple of days in a quiet, calm place, with a lot of fussing over him and telling him he was a good boy, he bonded to me and became the sweet, affectionate dog he is. All this guy wants and needs is somebody he can trust and be near. Now, he follows me wherever I go, and when I stop to do something, he lies down near me. If I go to another room, he’s usually sitting by the door when I come back, waiting for me. I wish I could spend more time with this 80 pound love sponge, because he thrives on being near his person. Zeus needs a quiet home, and a large dog crate to which he can retire when he wants some time on his own. A place with young children and lots of coming/going would probably not work for him. His best situation would be with someone who is around a lot, perhaps retired or who works from home, so he can be near you. This guy is a very low maintenance boy. No bad habits. 100% housetrained. Doesn’t jump up. Doesn’t bark. Likes my cats. Doesn’t pull on his lead on walks. Barely sheds at all. If I’m not around for a while, he just goes in his crate and sleeps. Belly pets are his favorite. And he has the most beautiful blue eyes. If you need a friend who will adore you and be happy just being with you, Zeus is your boy.

Dawson is a gorgeous husky with the prettiest blue eyes! He came to the shelter with his ears and tail dyed blue so this pup likes to be fashionable! Dawson has some classic husky sass but is super affectionate and enjoys his canine friends.
