Story
Hi friends! Oakley is a full bread husky. Oakley is 6 years old and he is the most family oriented and loving pup. Oakley is full of energy and has a habit of trying to escape.. as huskies are known for. When not being adventurous he is laid back and enjoys pets and snuggles from his humans. He has been through basic training and is fully crate/house trained. The main reason for rehoming is an extremely busy family schedule and the addition of another child. We want the absolute best for our pup. We desire someone or a family who has plenty of room for him to run, play, go on walks and maybe even lounge on the couch. Currently he spends too much time in a crate and we want him to live out the rest of his days free and happy! He will be up to date on shots prior to adoption. He is not fit for a house with very small dogs or cats Thanks for considering Oakley as your new best friend!

Story
Posh is a sweetie. Posh had a hard start to life. She is currently in foster and doing well. She does fine with other dogs and cats, kids. She does spend most of her time in her kennel, as she see that as her safe place. Even when it is open that's where she prefers to lay. She will ask for belly rubs and runs around the yard like crazy. The only time she gets vocal is when she needs to go out. She does like to take all the toys, or stuffed animals, if it is on the floor it is fair game to end up in the kennel with her under a blanket. Posh is 5 years old.The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.helpingstrays.org

Story
**Courtesy Post** Ramona is about 8-10 years old Weighs 37lbs Husky mix  Fully vetted and hw-   Ramona was severely abused in her past and was emaciated when she came to me. She flinches when you move too fast and is always ready to be hit. She's gotten much better and doesn't jump every time she's touched anymore but we're still working on making her feel more comfortable.    She's the sweetest gal without an aggressive bone in her body. She tries to engage in play but she has 2 severely luxated patella's so she isn't incredibly stable. She takes gabapentin for her knees and that seems to make her feel a whole lot better! She likes other dogs but doesn't like them being rowdy in her face and who could blame her! The most she'll do is bark and walk away. She's learning to enjoy walks bones toys and a comfy place to sleep!    She struggled with digestive issues but after a round of steroids she seems to be doing 100% better! She takes probiotics and one serving of Metamucil per day plus she gets a tablespoons of pumpkin with both meals.    This girl is unbelievably sweet and deserves a calm home where she can continue her progress of being a dog.   To adopt Ramona please send an email to Nickiroy37@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 19, 2025, 3:20 pm

Story
Neo is a beautiful 2+ year old husky.  He is housebroken and crate trained however he does not care for a crate and will let you know.   He can be okay with a cat with time but does like to chase them.  He loves his people and wants to be with them.  We are told he’s good with children but would likely be too much for toddlers.  He needs a fenced in yard but can climb a chain link fence but only seems to do it when trying to get to his people.   He is good with other dogs in a neutral environment, but he can   be dominate so tends to pick on the older and more submissive dogs in his foster home.  He’s affectionate and a good boy that needs the right home and someone who is familiar with huskies or have done their research on the breed .  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Neo's adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
