While he's a bit cautious with new experiences and unknown dogs, he's a sweet pup who loves affection once he feels comfortable. Ky is an adult dog who is eager to find a forever home where he can receive love, care, and lots of tasty treats. He's a great listener who is always up for an adventure and is just waiting for someone to give him a chance. If you believe you could be that someone, please consider adopting Ky. He's an all-around good boy who is just hoping for a fresh start and a family to call his own. Who knows, maybe you're just the person he's been waiting for! Ky is estimated to be 2-3 years old. Hi all! I came to the shelter with a buddy, we used to play together before he got adopted. I am happy to meet new people and I can get jumpy at times, but am usually pretty gentle. I like running and checking out everyone and everything here at the shelter, you could call me curious. I just want to see everything and go exploring. I respond well to treats and praise, I will sit even before being asked in hopes of getting a treat. I would probably do very well in a home with another dog to show me how to behave and children over 6 years old. I have met some kids at the shelter and they get showered with kisses, I love everyone I have met here at the shelter. And since I like people I get to go on outings in the community, you may have even seen me at Harvest Fest last year. I graduated from basic obedience training on January 14th with Simba, we did really well. I do need to work on "stay" but will cooperate with "sit" and "leave it" commands. Story
Maze is sweet and energetic. We found her on the streets a couple years back and exhausted our efforts trying to find her owners. At the time the shelters were at capacity and being animal lovers we couldn’t just let her roam the streets. We took her in and have been caring for her since. We are wanting to find her a home with someone who has more time for her. We do have other dogs that she gets along with and 1 that she doesn’t get along with. We also have 2 cats that she’s pretty curious about but has never tried to harm them. She has a bit of separation anxiety that has come on more recently, probably by our own doing unknowingly. She does not tend to go to the bathroom in the house as long as she is given ample time outside. Our family currently just has a lot going on and it has become difficult to match her energy. I believe she would do better with someone or a family that can better accommodate her level of energy. We did get her spayed and she is current on her rabies shot.
