He is just excited to eventually go to a loving and understanding home. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. Story
Meet Syrena, a 5-month-old Husky/Golden Retriever mix who weighs 28 pounds. Named after the enchanting mermaid from Pirates of the Caribbean, Syrena has truly come out of her shell since she first started her journey with her foster family. Syrena is making excellent progress with house training and is comfortable in her crate, especially when it's in the same room as her humans. She enjoys a range of activities, from running around the house and yard to playing with toys and other dogs. Her playful nature shines when she's fetching, chewing on bones, or engaging with her beloved squeaky balls. Initially timid, Syrena now loves every member of her foster family and shows her affection with sweet puppy kisses. While she may take a few minutes to warm up to new people, her curiosity soon gets the best of her, and she eagerly joins in the fun with her foster dog siblings. She does well with kids, who just need to understand that she might take a bit longer to feel fully comfortable. With patience and gentle introductions, she becomes a fantastic playmate for her new human siblings. Syrena is treat-motivated and responds well to positive reinforcement, which helps her feel more comfortable and confident. Her foster mom shares that Syrena absolutely loves water and enjoys playing in her swimming pool, making her a perfect camping or boating buddy. Watching her toss her squeaky balls around and having the time of her life is pure joy. Family walks are another favorite activity for Syrena, and she does great on a leash with very minimal pulling. Her foster mom describes her as a happy and playful pup who entertains herself well and thrives on both playtime and cuddles. With continued time and patience, Syrena is set to become a wonderful addition to her new forever family. If you're looking for a loving and playful companion who adores water and squeaky toys, Syrena is the perfect match for you. This blossoming mermaid is ready to share her love and joy with a family that will cherish her.  Her minimum adoption fee is $325 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Giselle, a 5-month-old Husky/Golden Retriever mix who weighs about 30 pounds. Named after the charming dancer from Pirates of the Caribbean, Giselle is an adorable and affectionate companion, blending playfulness with a love for snuggles. Giselle is making steady progress with house training and does wonderfully in her crate, making her a joy to have in the home. Her exercise needs are moderate, enjoying activities like running around the house, spending time in the yard, and engaging with her canine pals. She loves playing with toys, fetching, and interacting with other dogs, showcasing her playful side. Though initially timid with new people, Giselle is good with dogs and humans of all ages. With a bit of patience and reassurance, she quickly warms up and reveals her happy and playful nature. Her foster mom describes her as striking a perfect balance between being active and cuddly, making her an ideal companion for various households. Giselle delights in exploring the yard and playing with her toys, but she equally enjoys curling up on the couch for some quiet time. She follows her humans around the house, always eager to be part of the action. Like many Huskies, Giselle is not shy about using her vocal talents, so a home without shared walls would be ideal to accommodate her expressive nature. A fenced yard isn't required but it would be very beneficial for Giselle, allowing her to explore and play safely. Her initial reserve with new faces and places makes her a gentle and cautious explorer, but once she feels secure, her true outgoing personality shines through. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate, and playful pup who loves both adventure and cuddles, Giselle is the perfect addition to your family. Ready to bring joy and companionship, Giselle is eagerly waiting for her forever home where she can continue to flourish and share her loving spirit. Her minimum adoption fee is $325 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Calypso, a 5-month-old Husky/Golden Retriever mix who weighs 30 pounds. Named after the powerful sea goddess from Pirates of the Caribbean, Calypso is a bundle of energy and joy, always ready for her next adventure. Calypso is making great progress with house training and does exceptionally well in her crate, making her a delight to have around the house. She has a lively spirit and enjoys a variety of activities, from running around the house and yard to engaging in high-energy exercises. Her playful nature shines when she's playing with toys, fetching, or interacting with other dogs. This friendly and outgoing pup loves being in the company of humans of all ages and forms strong bonds with everyone she meets. She's known for her happy demeanor and enjoys following her humans around, ready to join in on any activity or just curl up for a cuddle. Calypso's foster mom describes her as bursting with energy and zest for life. She thrives on playtime, running, and discovering new things. The perfect home for Calypso would be one that offers plenty of outdoor activities and play sessions. While she enjoys cuddling up, she's at her happiest when on the move, exploring and engaging with her environment. True to her Husky heritage, Calypso isn't shy about using her vocal talents, so a home without shared walls would be ideal to accommodate her expressive nature. She adores making new friends, both human and canine, and would make a wonderful addition to any family. While a fenced yard is not a requirement, it would be beneficial for Calypso, as she loves to run and play freely. She's also a bit of a jumper, having discovered she can reach impressive heights, so continued obedience training is essential to ensure she doesn't develop a habit of counter-surfing. Calypso is the perfect companion for an active family looking for a playful, loving, and energetic pup. If you're ready for a lively and affectionate addition to your household, Calypso is eager to bring her spirited charm to her forever home. Her minimum adoption fee is $325 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. Story
Mouse is a 4-year-old, 45-pound Siberian Husky who's ready to find her forever home! This friendly and playful girl is housetrained, keeping her run at the shelter spotless. Mouse enjoys a variety of activities, including zoomies in the yard, car rides, walks, hikes, and might even make a great running partner. She adores toys and loves playing with other dogs. While Mouse hasn't been exposed to kids in our care, we believe she'd do well with them. She's already learned "sit" and shows great potential for further training. True to her Husky heritage, Mouse can be vocal, so she needs a home without shared walls. Additionally, she may have escape artist tendencies, so yard supervision is necessary. Kennel staff describe Mouse as a sweet, pretty girl who loves to play and go for walks. She does well with durable toys, although she loves to shred stuffed ones. Mouse enjoys bones, rubs, and attention, and she rarely jumps, only doing so when invited for a hug. She walks nicely on a leash and is eager to learn more. Mouse is described as friendly, outgoing, confident, adaptable, happy, playful, and loyal. She would be a perfect addition to a home that can offer her a couple of walks and playtime each day, but most importantly, all the love in the world. If you're looking for a stunning and loving companion, Mouse is the perfect choice! Her minimum adoption fee is $295 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
