Story
Terra is a very sweet, cute Husky Mix, possibly Husky-Shepherd. Her estimated date of birth is July 4, 2021; at the time of this post, she is about 1 ½ years old. She weighs about 50 lbs. Terra is typical Husky through-and-through. She is active, somewhat high-strung, and loves being outside. When she is by herself, she is overall well-behaved…given she’s a younger Husky. She can get carried away and become obnoxious when engaging with other dogs. As such, she is most likely to do best being an only dog. She is not a dog-park dog. While playful and energetic, Terra is also very affectionate. She enjoys people and does pretty well when meeting people she does not know. As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Terra would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with her new family. No doubt, Terra has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to her and provide her the forever home she deserves. Terra is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. To learn how you can add this cute young girl to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the Chicago area and adopt our dogs only local to the area.

Story
Meet Timber..... While Timber could be mistaken for a small wolf, he’s a Husky-Shepherd Mix. A a very smart and handsome boy!! Timber enjoys playing and running; he’d prefer to run and play with a human companion rather than another dog. He LOVES people and is good with most everyone. Timber’s estimated date of birth is July 4 2021. He’s about 60 lbs. of energy! An ideal home for Timber, and one in which he’d thrive and his family would forever enjoy his companionship is one experienced with the Husky (or a similar) breed, has the time to commit to a young large-breed energetic boy, and a willingness to set boundaries and guidelines to ensure Timber evolves into a perfect family member. Timber is a quick learner and is sure to make progress toward his behavior goals pretty quickly! Timber would love a secure, fenced yard, and possibly being an only dog so he can receive ALL the attention!! Timber is fully vetted, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, neutered and microchipped. If you might be interested in adding this handsome boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895

FAST FACTS:*1 and a Half Year Old, 34 Pounds*Sweet, Loving, Gentle, Smart*Medium Playful Energy*People Friendly *Dog Friendly*Potty Trained*Crate Trained*Recovering From Heartworm Treatment*Training RequiredBIO:Hi all, I'm Pita, another Texas gal found as a stray and brought to an overcrowded shelter. Since Texas has the highest rate of animal euthanasia in the nation, I consider myself lucky indeed to have been rescued by FTF and brought to Chicago to find my forever home. My foster mom says I'm a sweet and loving pooch whose favorite things are giving hugs and kisses and getting lots of pets. I've discovered how much fun it is to go on walks. My leash manners are improving by the day, and I'm quite the social butterfly, always interested in meeting new people and pooches of all ages and sizes. While car rides were a new experience for me, I'm getting the hang of being the backseat navigator (everyone needs one of those-right?!). As I recover from heartworm treatment, I do need to be kept calm until cleared by the vet. But I can't wait for the day when I can be more active-perhaps joining you on long hikes and/or jogs. A few final facts about me. I'm potty trained, settle quickly in my crate, and don't chew on anything that doesn't belong to me. My weak point is food possessiveness. My foster mom is working with me with that, and I'm doing better. With your continued help, and the obedience classes you'll sign us up for (required for all young FTF pups), I know I'll break that bad habit in no time. So this is what you can expect if you adopt me into your home-a loving and gentle canine companion who will give you more love and happiness than you could ever imagine. Interested? Then please complete an adoption application and schedule a meet and greet. I believe we're destined to have a wonderful life together! Love and licks, PitaIf you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.

Story
Introducing Sedona: Energetic and Loyal Companion Seeking Her Forever Home Here is what her best friend Susie has to say about her! "I have walked Sedona in the forest preserve a few times a week for the last few months, so I feel like I have gotten to know her pretty well. She is high energy, but she is not hyper. Of course when I come to get her, she is very excited, but she does calm down within a few minutes. By the time we get to my jeep, she hops right in. She gets tethered in (which she's very cooperative about), and she is well behaved on the short drive to the forest preserve. She walks pretty well on the leash-I'd give her a B. She mostly doesn't pull, but if she sees a squirrel or bird she sometimes does. She goes whatever pace I go at-including plodding. When we see another dog there, she seems curious, but that's about it. Every few minutes I say "Sedona, and she knows that she needs to come beside me and sit and then she gets a treat. She does this every single time I say her name. So I know that she is focused. Although I can only speak to when I am with her, I have never heard her bark-not at another animal or to see me or to go for a ride. Not one woof. Of course this is outside the shelter setting. Sometimes I bring a brush. We take a break during her walk and I brush her, and she cooperates. The thing that I love the most about her is that she is always cheerful. Despite being in her run, she never seems down in the dumps. What she really needs is someone to give her a chance to show the dog she is beyond the first moments, where she is just super excited to meet you." Meet Sedona, a stunning 1-year-old Husky/German Shepherd mix with an adventurous spirit and a heart full of love! 💖 Sedona came to us from the Anti-Cruelty Society, where she has been patiently waiting for her perfect home for nearly 4 months. Sedona can become overstimulated in a kennel environment, so we're eager to find her a loving foster or FURever home as soon as possible. Although she's reported to co-exist with other dogs, we're still learning more about her compatibility with canine companions. 🐶 This high-energy girl would be over the moon to join a family that can take her on outdoor adventures and provide her with a secure, fenced yard. 🌳 With her enthusiasm for life, Sedona requires a dedicated person to invest time and energy into her training, helping her learn to focus and channel her energy. Sedona may appear independent at first, but she warms up quickly and will soon become your loyal companion. Don't be surprised if she becomes your devoted shadow, always eager for your love and attention! 💕 If you think you could be the perfect match for our beautiful Sedona, please get in touch with us! Let's help this sweet girl find the loving home she deserves. 🏡

Story
Meet Balto, a perfectly lovable pup with a heart full of sweetness! He loves other dogs and is always up for making new pals! When he's not enjoying playtime, you can find him living his best life as a couch potato, soaking in all the relaxation he deserves. He's also great on a leash, making walks a breeze. If you're looking for a chill companion who enjoys the simple pleasures in life, Balto is your guy! Hear what his foster has to say about him! Balto is a perfect gentleman. He sits while he waits for his food, and he is very gentle when taking treats. He got along with my other dogs from day one, as well as with my daughter's visiting dogs. Even the cat doesn't bother him. He also walks very well on a leash. He's just a joy to have around. He's very smart and curious, and quickly picked up on the new routines. He rarely barks and hasn't shown any aggression to dogs, cats or people. He would be a great buddy in a household with older kids, as he likes walks playing a little with other dogs, but he also likes his quiet time. He'd also be great in a house with older adopters.

Story
Haku means "pure" in Japanese! I was named for my pure, passionate and overwhelming love for everyone around me! I came to the rescue when my dad was stationed in Japan and heartbroken that he couldn't take me with him. I've missed him so much ever since! Everyday I do the things I did with him with other dogs so I can try and remember what it felt like to be with him! But it's just not the same. So, I'm hoping a new family can come scoop me up and show me what it feels like to be a part of a home and family again! I am good with other dogs, I love playing chase with them or tugging on chew toys. I'll need a happy and active home so that my life will be full of love and fun! I am a bit anxious and nervous around new people, and people in general! Slow introductions, a safe space I can retreat to like a crate and not forcing me into spaces with tons of people will help me be myself all the time! Haku can only be adopted in the local or TX area. Local adoption only, in San Antonio or TX area, $200.

Story
Shady is a gorgeous Alaskan Malamute, estimated to be 2-3 years old, weighing just 45 lbs (she is currently a bit underweight). Although young, Shady is calm, mild-mannered and attentive to commands. She’s very good with other dogs and loves people too. Shady walks nicely on a leash. She enjoys hanging out with her canine friends in the secure fully-fenced yard at her foster home. An ideal family for Shady is one with experience with the Alaskan Malamute breed and a full awareness of their temperament, as well as their care; regular grooming is a notable part of their care. And of course a solid vet history for past dogs is required. Shady is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Shady and possibly adding her to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895 to obtain an adoption application. Note that BAARK is located in Barrington and adopts only local to the NW Suburbs of Chicago.
