Bandit and his sister, Gracie, were surrendered to Helping Strays at 10 years of age. They are looking for a nice home to spend the rest of their years in. They are both housetrained and have very sweet personalities. They do need to be adopted as a pair since they have been together since birth. Being older they are on medications. If you can find in your heart to give this pair a great life, they would so appreciate it! Adoption fee has been waived.Bandit is 10 years old and weighs 92 pounds.Bandit's adoption fee has been covered by a generous donor. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Story
Neo is a beautiful 2+ year old husky.  He is housebroken and crate trained however he does not care for a crate and will let you know.   He can be okay with a cat with time but does like to chase them.  He loves his people and wants to be with them.  We are told he’s good with children but would likely be too much for toddlers.  He needs a fenced in yard but can climb a chain link fence but only seems to do it when trying to get to his people.   He is good with other dogs in a neutral environment, but he can   be dominate so tends to pick on the older and more submissive dogs in his foster home.  He’s affectionate and a good boy that needs the right home and someone who is familiar with huskies or have done their research on the breed .  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Neo's adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
This handsome boy is Achilles.  He is a just over a year old and weighs approximately 55 lbs.  His previous human is in the military and could no longer keep him.  He is a typical husky with lots of puppy energy.  He gets along with all the dogs in his foster home from the small 15lb little old male dog to the 80 lb male husky and his two foster sister dogs.  He is playful and energetic.  He will like to go into a home with another playful dog to help burn his energy.  He is affectionate and sweet boy with his foster mom even though only being in her home for a short time.  He appears to be housebroke and although not happy about the crate has gone in his crate with treats.   He will need an active home or family that understands the exercise needs of a husky.    If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. My name is Sakari and I'm a happy bouncy gal that is wanting a home, a family...one to call my very own. Did you know that Sakari is a Native American name meaning 'sweet'. And did you also know that there is a Native American legend that if you have 2 different colored eyes you can see both heaven and earth at the same time? Pretty cool, huh?!!! I'm around 2 years and 54lbs. I am that pawsome medium size for anything you've got up your sleeve (and you can always count on me to be game to give it a try). I love long walks, hiking nature trails, being your co-pilot on errand runs or just chillin on the couch. I'm a well balanced social gal that does well with people, both tall and small and the other foster pups too although I haven't had the pleasure of meeting any of those creatures y'all call a cat! I'm active, playful and love to explore...everywhere! I have tons of love ready to be unleashed on my family and I'm big on personality, smart and inquisitive, affectionate and sweet. My oh my I have a boatload of great traits going on, oh and don't forget my stunningly gorgeous good looks, to make me a great family addition, I just need the family...could it be YOUR family? If we could be that perfect fit please fill out my adoption application found at haydudeequine.org

They are both cuddly and playful, and love to occasionally let you hear their "singing voice". They also have big airplane ears that are both comical and adorable. They are your all around typical puppy and sure to be a perfect addition under any Christmas tree! The adoption fee is $450.
