Story
Keegan is a young bouncy boy who is as nice as he is energetic. While it was pretty apparent when he came in to us that he was not given a lot of training in his previous home, he obviously was loved as he has a great personality and is a very loving boy. He is a diamond in the rough kind of dog-he needs to learn some manners (and he is a quick learner) but with an active home that will give him exercise and structure, he'll be a well trained boy in no time. Keegan is good with other dogs and great with people. He might knock over little ones in the home so until he is a bit more trained, older kids are probably best.

Marina is looking for her furever home that she can call her own. She's house broken, crate trained and knows some basic commands. She will need a strong positive leader, previous Husky experience preferred, and will do best with no kids and no small animals. She does get along with some dogs, mostly older laid back males, but will do fine as an only dog. Do you have a place for Marina to live out her retirement years with?

Marilyn is a really cool girl. She is beautiful, sure, but she is also smart, athletic and so friendly and sweet. Not sure how she ended up unclaimed, for two months, at animal control but we were happy we could bring her to the rescue. Marilyn is house trained, crate trained and gets along great with other dogs. Our pretty bi-eyed girl is built like a race dog and has some energy so she'd do great with an active home. Our guess is that she'd probably be a dyno in harness so perhaps a sled dog home would be ideal? Or a great jogging partner. she's just a doll!

Story
Meet our Legend-ary new foster dog! Legend is a wonderful 2 year old boy who still has some of his puppy spunk, but is calming down. He has some nice house manners but still has a bit to learn. Legend was found as a stray, but given it was his second time at animal control they knew his owners, but they never came for him. Not sure why as he is a very sweet boy who gets along well with other dogs and had many children in his former house. As far as young Siberians go, he is really a well behaved boy who just needs a bit of a refresher course on some basic training. If you are looking for an active boy to go on walks and hang with, Legend is a great choice.

Story
Hi, I'm Thomas. A sweet and loving boy, looking for a loving home. I am great at walking on a leash, being potty trained, and knowing how to sit on command! I like belly rubs and liver sausage treats, but nothing compares to a good squeaky toy!!! When I arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Louisiana, I tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for heartworm-positive dogs like me to be while going through treatments and recovering is with a loving and forever family like yours. If you choose to adopt me, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering questions and offering support. The process from detection to the final treatment is generally three months and involves some simple at-home steps to keep me safe while I recover. The last step in the process is a follow-up test six months after my treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that I will fully recover! Yeah! And you should know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal by mosquitoes. Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email bloomingdale@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 90, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians. FAST FACTS:*1 and a Half Year Old, 34 Pounds*Sweet, Loving, Gentle, Smart*Medium Playful Energy*People Friendly *Dog Friendly*Potty Trained*Crate Trained*Recovering From Heartworm Treatment*Training RequiredBIO:Hi all, I'm Pita, another Texas gal found as a stray and brought to an overcrowded shelter. Since Texas has the highest rate of animal euthanasia in the nation, I consider myself lucky indeed to have been rescued by FTF and brought to Chicago to find my forever home. My foster mom says I'm a sweet and loving pooch whose favorite things are giving hugs and kisses and getting lots of pets. I've discovered how much fun it is to go on walks. My leash manners are improving by the day, and I'm quite the social butterfly, always interested in meeting new people and pooches of all ages and sizes. While car rides were a new experience for me, I'm getting the hang of being the backseat navigator (everyone needs one of those-right?!). As I recover from heartworm treatment, I do need to be kept calm until cleared by the vet. But I can't wait for the day when I can be more active-perhaps joining you on long hikes and/or jogs. A few final facts about me. I'm potty trained, settle quickly in my crate, and don't chew on anything that doesn't belong to me. My weak point is food possessiveness. My foster mom is working with me with that, and I'm doing better. With your continued help, and the obedience classes you'll sign us up for (required for all young FTF pups), I know I'll break that bad habit in no time. So this is what you can expect if you adopt me into your home-a loving and gentle canine companion who will give you more love and happiness than you could ever imagine. Interested? Then please complete an adoption application and schedule a meet and greet. I believe we're destined to have a wonderful life together! Love and licks, PitaIf you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.

Story
Handsome Silas is a Siberian Husky mix, born 7/1/24 and we expect he will be medium / large when full grown. We are unsure of what he is mixed with. He is current on vaccinations, neutered, chipped and on preventions. A physical 6 foot min fence is required, if you know the breed, you know why. We are looking for a family who is experienced with the breed. We know he is gorgeous, all huskies are, but they are not a breed for everyone. Here are some fun husky facts to help you consider if you are the right family for this breed of dog. They are a high-energy breed that needs plenty of exercise, so they are not a good fit for everyone. However, if you are looking for a friendly, intelligent, and outgoing dog, a Siberian Husky may be the perfect breed. Here are some additional things to keep in mind if you are considering getting a Siberian Husky: They are escape artists, so you must have a secure yard or ensure they are always on a leash when outside. They are vocal dogs, and they will often howl. They are not hypoallergenic, so they will shed a lot and will require grooming several times a year. If you are willing to put in the time and effort, a Siberian Husky can be a wonderful companion. They are loyal, loving, and always up for an adventure, Silas is currently being fostered in Cookeville, TN but transportation via Rescue Riders LLC to one of their locations is included in the adoption fee. Please reach out if you are interested in applying to add Silas to your family and we will direct you on how to apply.
