Story
Iris is a striking male husky mix with captivating blue eyes and unique heterochromia—one of his eyes even boasts two colors! He is three years old and 67 pounds. His rescue story began one cold winter night when his foster mom was driving. She saw a dog looking homeless and hungry and eating scraps of trash out of a parking lot. It was heartbreaking. She knew right then and there she had to help this poor dog so she rushed home and gathered up fleece blankets and dog food and hoped he would still be there when she went back. He was. He was cautious, but he watched from afar as she placed the blankets and food down for him. She drove away and later came back to find him nestled up in a ball on the fleece blankets. He was so timid and scared, but after hours she earned his trust and took him home. He was immediately grateful and sweet. Now it’s time for this sweet boy to find a forever home. Iris is gentle, low energy, loves squeaky toys, and is crate and potty trained.  He enjoys being pet and has become a bit of a couch potato. Iris would do best with a family that is patient and understanding and see how much he has blossomed. When he becomes scared, he looks for reassurance. He is very submissive and takes well to any verbal correction. No cats for Iris, he’s not a fan but he is dog friendly and shares his home with other dogs. Iris would love to be home snuggled next to you.  Age: 3 years   Weight: 68 lb   Temperament: good with dogs, not yet tested with young kids    Training: House trained, crate trained .    Vetting: neutred, up to date on vaccines, HW negative     For questions, please email:   sonaligokhale@yahoo.com  &#226&#128&#139   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.  December 16, 2024, 8:42 am

Story
Meet Kacy – The Life of the Party Looking for Her Forever Home! Hi, I’m Kacy —a 3-year-old husky mix with a hilarious personality and enough spunk to keep you smiling all day long. I’m the kind of girl who knows how to turn every moment into an adventure and every frown into a laugh! What Makes Me Special: I’m funny, quirky, and full of energy—you’ll never be bored with me around! I’ve got a playful streak a mile wide and love to entertain my humans with my silly antics. Despite my goofy side, I’m also incredibly sweet and loyal—I love being part of the family. Whether it’s going for a hike, zooming around the yard, or snuggling up after a fun day, I’m all in. My Ideal Home: I’d thrive in a home that matches my energy and zest for life! If you love the outdoors, have a sense of humor, and are ready for a best friend who will keep you laughing, I’m your girl. I wouldn’t mind being the star of the show as your only pet, but I could also do well with a playful, well-matched dog sibling. How You Can Help Kacy: Adopt Me! I’m ready to bring joy, love, and lots of laughs into your life. Share My Story. Help me find my perfect family by spreading the word—who wouldn’t want a fun-loving goofball like me? I’m here, waiting to make your life more colorful and exciting. Let’s make it official—email my rescue today to meet me!   This is a Courtesy Post for Canine Crusaders of Atlanta.  Please contact them directly for more info on Kacy at caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com . Meet Miss Kacy: a fun, loving, 3 year-old, female Husky mix, who’s as sweet as they come! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Kacy is extremely outgoing and has the best personality. She absolutely loves everyone she meets and is a very happy, go lucky girl. Kacy is extremely smart and listens very well. She will sit, shake and lay down on command. She weighs around 50 pounds, is spayed, current on shots and crate trained. Kacy doesn’t have the thick, fluffy coat of a purebred Husky so that’s a lot less dog hair to brush!! She is great in the house and a non-chewer. Ready to add a fun, loving and spunky girl, who loves walks, car rides and especially belly rubs to your life?&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 ***Kacy needs a fenced yard, a 6 foot wood privacy fence works best. For more info on Kacy, email caninecrusadersatlanta@yahoo.com. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 30, 2025, 4:53 pm

Story
Eva is a two year old, 62# Husky girl. She is likely not 100% Husky but her temperament and personality are very characteristic of the breed. She is spunky, playful, talkative, and has never met a stranger. Eva is active without being over-the-top in terms of energy level and settles well in the house with sufficient exercise. Being a husky, she can also be mischievous and a bit of a Houdini, though she is not destructive. With dogs she can be a bit domineering and is what I would classify as a “rude greeter”. Meaning, her body language when meeting new dogs can be a bit antagonistic and she has needed some coaching on how to interact more politely. Once she is acquainted with a dog, she is largely a gracious playmate and confidante, although she typically prefers male dogs. Not that I ever really condone dog parks except in special circumstances, but she is definitely not a dog park or commercial doggy daycare candidate. I also would not recommend her to a home with small animals or very young children. Eva has been bounced around a bit in her short life and would love to find her forever family. She walks well on leash, has good name recall, and knows basic obedience commands. She is also spayed, chipped, and up to date.

Story
Nellie is a 10 month old husky/bulldog mix who is always looking for her next adventure! I found Nellie running around in my neighborhood one day and she practically hoped into my car without hesitation. I was walking her around the neighborhood the next day where her original owner saw me and when I tried to reunite them he claimed he didn’t want her anymore. I took her in begrudgingly because I already have a dog and didn’t want to deal with puppy behavior but also didn’t want to take her to a shelter. I’ve had her for a few months now and she’s very sweet with every person and dog she meets. However she is very active and inquisitive and she’s needs someone who can give her structure in a way I can’t. My other dog is an older rescue who’s just more self reliant and dependable and Nellie is a wild card that I think might fit better in an active multi person/dog household.
