Story
Meet Panda Girl: Your New Best Friend!  Name: Panda Girl  Breed: Husky Mix  Age: 2-3 years old Weight: 48 pounds   Let us tell you about Panda Girl's journey which hasn't been easy. She was found at an abandoned house, left in a dirty pen with two other dogs, surviving without food or water for some time. For the past 9 months Panda Girl has been sadly waiting patiently for her forever home at a small town shelter, existing in a dark and depressing, tiny concrete cell. Despite her tough start, Panda Girl is a true sweetheart and still has a great attitude and grateful for any attention or moment outside her cell in the play yard. This girl is able to stay out in the play yard a lot because she gets along well with other dogs and adores everyone she meets. Her time in the shelter's play yard shows that she still has a  playful spirit and friendly nature.  This poor girl needs a break from this mundane existence in a shelter.  9 months is sheer torture and we hope someone will help her get out by fostering or even better, adopting.  Panda Girl deserves a loving family who will give her the care and companionship she craves. Could you be the one to offer her a second chance at happiness? Whether adoption or fostering, Panda Girl is ready to be your loyal and loving companion. Interested in adopting or fostering Panda Girl? Contact Critter Cavalry Animal Rescue today! Let's give this beautiful girl the break and love she needs. Email CCRTennessee@gmail.com to request an adoption application or learn more about fostering. We are a Middle Tennessee-based rescue, but we travel to the Northeast weekly for our mission. Story
Aspen's mum was brought into a rural shelter in TX very pregnant. She was hanging around some apartment complex, found a couch to lay on. The very next day after arriving at the shelter she had 3 puppies. Flora is the mum and she is a Siberian Husky who is the same colour as Aspen. The shelter she was at was full and there was a big plea to save her and her babies lives to which we answered. All the puppies are very sweet. Aspen is now ready for his home after being fixed, had all shots for his age and micro chipped. His breed is high energy so no apartments. A fenced in yard and buddy would be wonderful. If you are interested in this handsome fellow please email us at Doginghamrescue@aol.com so we can send you an application. We are based in the Nashville, TN area and have most of our dogs transported up north. The $450 includes the adoption and transport fee (will have a health certificate too). The transport fee is not refundable if things do not work out.

Story
Marley is a beautiful purebred Husky girl that is a nice settled 6 year old girl that is 45 pounds and rescued from a totally inhumane living environment for the last 4 years.   This girl needs some patience, love, training to not jump on you as you enter her space to pet her and a first time ever inside home.  She has lived in a neglected backyard environment that has resulted in her having heartworms which are being treated now. She will be fine after the treatment is done.  We are desperately trying to help the family who took and the other dog in to their home to give them fresh water daily (not the black rain water in the kiddie pool), food daily (instead of every 4 days) and a grassy environment that is mowed weekly and no 7 feet tall with weeds.  We are all working hard to get her and the other dog (can be separated) the good and caring homes and people to love them.  Marley deserves a dream come true new place in life.  She is not housebroken at the moment due to the years living outside.  But that can change in a short time with a schedule and patience.  This girl is playful, friendly and good with other dogs and people.  She just needs to learn NOT to jump on them with her joyful greetings.  Help us give Marley a true Cinderella story of rising from the neglect and abandonment she came from and let’s put her in a castle.  We want her to have a good life and all we need is a person with a rescue kind of heart.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Cubby is our handsome Husky mix boy that is just beginning to peel away his original reluctance to trust people and now he is just all about having fun and playing with all the humans in his foster community.  He is a loving 2 year old boy who grew up in a pack of other Huskies and also many puppies all around in the backyard.  Cubby was never taken out in a car or away from that dirty backyard filled with many items of trash.  So. Cubby learned nothing about life and certainly nothing about being on a leash to go for walks. In fact he never had a collar or a leash on him. One month later, he is blossoming so much and every day we see such progress in his confidence. Now, with his foster family he loves to go on walks and is beginning to like and meet new people that he meets.   He has gained so much trust and confidence. What is so sweet is that this boy now knows how to play as he tosses his toys in the air and chases bouncy balls.  He has the normal Husky energy and that includes a need to run in a fenced area and most certainly he cannot be confined to a crate for 8-9 hours because it is just not in his nature to be comfortable with that.  When he is inside a home he can be chill and relaxed with his humans and of course he is wonderful with other dogs and loves to play with them.  He will be fun and your amazing companion and will be  someone’s faithful buddy. Cubby is beautiful inside and out. Story
You know every rescue dog has a pretty significant story that all of us cry over and fight  to help make their life better. This young girl Katya grew up on a pretty despairing property that was full of unaltered cats and dogs and not enough food and sometimes no water and often there was not adequate shelter from all the rain and elements of weather. None of the people around her could take care of all the animals. She was tied out and it broke our heart to go on the property and see the condition shevand others were raised in. Katya has risen above all of that as a one-year-old Husky that weighs 60 lbs. and she is a pure love.   A happy girl with a little bit of shyness because she's never gotten out into the world to experience new things. When we picked her up from the property and took her off that chain we knew she would be smiling very soon. She is always so overjoyed when you cuddle with her and play. She is a mellow Husky with medium energy that is easy to entertain and deal with.  She's lived amongst many cats all her life,  so that typical Husky caution of ' no cats allowed',  doesn't apply to her. She loves children, loves other dogs and she enjoys meeting adults with just a tad shyness and time to warm up to them. We want someone to spoil her rotten. We want someone that will let her sit on their lap and pretend that she's a Chihuahua like she thinks she is in size. She has  an innocence that makes you just want to hug and protect her. She makes you want to give her a better life and future.  If you've got a fenced yard, a Husky loving home, and some time, we want to hear from you. Maybe even just living in an apartment with a dog park could be the much better life that she's looking for. It would be such a better life than what she's had. Let's all come together and find Katya the best new life ever.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 21, 2024, 12:02 pm

Story
Misha was a shelter dog at the MD SPCA. She turns 4 years this November. She is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog. She loves going for walks and is very food/treat motivated. Otherwise she loves taking long naps and finding weird places to lay around. She has a strong prey drive towards small animals. She is incredibly strong and fast so I would recommend walking tools like easy-walk or gentle leader. She sheds a lot and needs proper and regular grooming to maintain. She is also an escape artist and will try to escape given the opportunity. Loves water and swimming. She is hovering around 62lbs and eats about 3 Cups of kibble/day. Looking for a home that has a yard or other animals for her to socialize with. Needs a fair amount of activity.

Story
Hi, I am LaBelle I am a 3 year-old Husky who was rescued from a high kill facility right after I gave birth to my babies. A sweet lady saw me and knew I needed help, so she offered to foster me and my babies until we could find our forever homes. I am so thankful for her and the rescue who saved us. I absolutely love spending time with people and other dogs. I would love a big yard to play in and if there were kids for me to play with, that would even be better. I love children. I love to be outside and enjoying nice cool weather. I do very well inside and use my manners. Unless I really want your attention, then I like to talk to you..... I am a true husky. We are chatty! I would do best with an active family. Please consider giving me a chance to show you how much I can love you. I am a really good girl with a lot of personality. I am fully vetted and ready for adoption. I can be transferred to you via ground transportation as well. Located in Texas

Story
Nora is a sweet 5 year old Siberian Husky. Born in San Diego and raised and trained in DC. Nora is good with all people and all dogs. She is trained to use a doggy door to let herself out and is food driven, so she is obedient when treats are involved! I am unfortunately unable to give Nora the attention she needs due to increase in work responsibilities, so I’m looking to find a good new home for her!

To learn more about Balto, please get in touch with karabear310@gmail.com Balto will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) While he may not be delivering lifesaving serum to Alaska like the famous canine hero, Balto does have a charming personality that has captured the hearts of his friends at Lost Dog. Balto is a mellow, smart gentleman who loves meeting new dogs and people. In typical husky fashion, Balto is curious and independent - and very quick to learn! He is house trained, knows many commands like sit, shake, and down, and motions at a door with his paw when he wants to enter. His favorite hobbies are napping with a chew toy nearby, receiving endless belly rubs, and going on walks or hikes with plenty of time for sniffing! He can be left alone uncrated while you're at work without issue, or is happy to quietly keep you company at your feet while you work from home (no husky howling here!) If you're looking for a loyal, new lifelong friend, Balto could be what you've been missing!

Story
Hi, I’m Toby! I’m a 2-year-old Siberian Husky mix, and I’ve got the most beautiful red and white coat that’ll stop you in your tracks. At 48 lbs., I’m a nice size — not too big, but big enough to keep you warm during chilly nights! I’ve got those striking Husky eyes and an adventurous spirit, and I’m always up for a good run or a fun play session. My tail wags pretty much all the time because I’m just so excited about life! I wasn’t always in this awesome place, though. I was surrendered by my previous owner in South Carolina because they couldn’t afford to care for me anymore. That was a tough time but I’m not letting it get me down. I’m ready to start fresh and find my forever home, one that will love me and take care of me like I deserve. I’m also working on gaining a little weight — I could use a few extra pounds to get to my best self, but I’m on the right track! Here’s what you really need to know about me: I am super people-friendly! I get along with everyone. I am very outgoing and affectionate - when I am in a home, I make myself very comfortable right away! I am very gentle and do great with kids. One of my favorite pastimes is playing with toys, napping on the couch (so I would LOVE my own little bed if possible please...unless you want to share yours!), and snuggling. I am totally open to grooming and don't mind it at all; as long as you give me lots of love, and treats are great too, grooming is no problemo! I am working on my housetraining and crate training and am doing quite well. The nice people at AHOTO say I catch on very quickly. I'm quite smart if I don't say so myself! Now, cats are meant to be chased, so if you have a cat, I'm probably not the right pup for you...unless you're not a fan of your cat! Also, I am fine when other dogs are around from afar, but I will do best as an only dog in my home. I prefer that it just be my people and me! Since I have been bounced around a lot, I do have some separation anxiety. My new home will need to be patient with me and someone will need to be home at all times...at least at the beginning...until I am able to tolerate being left alone. AHOTO will guide my new people and suggest a great trainer to help with my separation anxiety training. The last home I was in said my separation anxiety was starting to decrease in just a week's time. My people will need patience and give me extra love and follow training advice so we can all be successful and live our best lives together! I promise to fill your life with love, laughs, and lots of snuggles! Come meet me soon — I’m ready to find my forever family ##2230431##

Story
He there! My name is Bubbles and I have an effervescent personality to go along with my name! I am a stunning young dog with a reddish-brown coat and cream markings who is searching for the perfect home. I came to the shelter as a local stray and am now ready to find a home where I can love and be loved. As I am barely out of the puppy stage of life, I am an active guy who is looking for someone who can keep up with me. I love to run and play and chase my little toys. Now I just need a buddy to throw them to me! I would make a great partner for someone who loves going on outdoor adventures -- be it a long hike or just taking a walk or a jog around the neighborhood. As long as I am getting exercise, I am a happy pup. But don't get me wrong, once play time is over I settle down nicely for some quality cuddle time. So if you have an active lifestyle and are looking for a companion to join you on life's many adventures, we may just be the perfect pair. Let's meet and find out!

Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.gorgeous husky mix ISO love and central air! GLORIA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Gloria     Best Guess for Breed:  Akita and shepherd mix Best Guess for Age:   6 years as of November 2024     Gender: Female Approximate Weight:   49 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to come up after completing heartworm treatment Special Adoption Considerations: Gloria is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Gloria Is Looking For: Her forever home! She landed in the shelter through no fault of her own, and can't wait to once again have her own humans. She's eager for long sniffy walks and all the adventures her new family can dream up. Note her thick, dense coat. She has a preference for adventures in cool places - the mountains over the beach, Vermont or Montana, and oh yeah - Starbucks for pup cups. And quality kibble and and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list too. But you know what she wants most of all? To know where she belongs, to know who her people are, and to be safe and loved. In exchange, she offers her stockpile of adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days.  What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
