Story
Zara is a cute young husky mix with a playful and affectionate nature, though she is usually scared of new situations and people. Once she has learned to trust her humans, she's very affectionate and loving with them. She's is great with most dogs and plays with dogs of all sizes at daycare, but can occasionally be dog-selective if the mood hits her. Zara tries to play with the cats in her foster home, but will eventually leave them alone when they don't reciprocate. She already knows sit, down, and automatically sits at doors. Zara's ideal home would be one where she gets regular attention, exercise, and brain stimulation, and lots toys (she likes all manner of toys). Zara would prefer a canine companion to help her learn to navigate new situations. Because of Zara's enthusiastic tendencies, Zara would do best in a home with children over 8yrs of age.

Story
Hi I'm Chloe, a beautiful 2 year old Husky German Shepard mix. I am scared of a lot of things in the world and need another dog to help be a bridge between myself and humans. I do not like to be handled and can be very timid. I am currently on behavior medications to help with my anxiety. I am potty and crate trained but I do have accidents when I am very scared. I definitely need another dog to help me out in the world. I love to play with my dog friends once I feel safe in an environment. I am very curious about cats and will bark at them sometimes, but I otherwise leave them alone. Because I am so nervous about the world and about humans, I would not do well in a home with children under 13 years of age. I like ice cubes, carrots treats, project toys, and appropriate chew toys. I LOVE food in general, especially human food, like pizza (pepperoni is the best!) and gravy.....I'm getting kind of spoiled with the finer food in life, while I work on being brave. My ideal home is one with another dog and a yard with a 6 foot fence. I am a flight risk when I get scared, so apartment living is not for me. I cannot be taken on regular walks since I will run if I get spooked. A home that will take things very slowly with me would be best. My adoption fee includes a personalized training program.

Story
I am a very low maintenance kind of dog. I'm very quiet and quite calm. I love being with my humans, especially during thunder and fireworks because it scares me. Otherwise, I'm the king of relaxation! I do well with children, other dogs and even cats! I'm a very calm guy. But, if a storm is coming through, or fireworks are going off, I need my human nearby. If I have a furry brother or sister who free-feeds and doesn't eat their breakfast or dinner, I might politely sneak a taste. Car rides give me shivers, but I couldn't be better when we get where we're going! Public or private events, I'm great and well behaved at both. House trained and proud. Finally, absolutely no crates for me! I promise I won't misbehave unless a storm is nearby and you're not here. If you aren't, I will try to dig at doors and the floor to get out and find you. Cats are my favorites—day-to-day low maintenance like me! I grew up with two brothers and have lots of dog buddies! I get along with most furry friends, but ask them for some space with my food. I may need to take the time to get to know other males sometimes, usually if they are intact or are also huskies. I absolutely love people—children, teens, adults, doesn't matter to me. They love me, and I want to meet them all if you give me permission! Not a huge toy pup, but I am always down for walks! If you like to hike too, even better! I'd do best with someone who can be home or with me consistently! Retirees, people who work from home, houses with stay-at-home spouses, or a human needing a special, furry emotional support friend to be by their side—all great matches for me. Constant attention not needed at all, in fact I keep to myself a lot. But your presence keeps me calm with scary thunder and fireworks! Adoption fee includes a training program specific to the dogs needs.

Story
Hello, my name is Aspen and I’m 3.5 yrs old and have been in foster care for 1.5 years!!!!I’m a Shepard mix, my foster parents are pretty sure that there’s Husky in me as well. I had a rough start in my life, I was found a stray in Texas with an embedded collar and irritated nose. It’s hard for me to trust people right away so I will need time to warm up to you. I’m a little shy and don’t like my nose to be touched.  In Texas the vet said my nose was most likely burned.  I went to the vet here in Colorado and she’s pretty sure I have Lupus.(also called DLE, Nasal Solar Dermatitis, or Collie Nose) Discoid Lupus or DLE is almost exclusively a canine disease and is almost always limited to the leather of the nose, called the nasal planum.  Lupus is an immune - mediated disease stemming from your own immune system reactions to your own DNA.I have to be on medication for the rest of my life and have to make sure to avoid the UV light at its peak time.(exposure to sunshine is makes the condition worse).  Lupus does not shorten my lifespan or slow me down in any way! I love to give all the kisses and want to be close to my humans once I warm up to them, kids should be a bit older so they understand I don’t like to get yanked on my collar and that i need time to warm up to everyone. I’m currently in a foster home with 3 Huskies (2 male and 1 female) and a Chihuahua mix and getting along fine with all of them. My foster parents say that I’m an alpha personality.  Hope I’ll meet you soon. Story
Highlights:- requires a 6 ft fenced in yard- Must be the only dog in the homeMeet Amber, a beautiful 44-pound Husky with a gentle, shy soul and the fluffiest coat that gives her a supermodel prance as she moves through the play yard. Due to her under-socialized past, Amber is still on the cautious side, preferring to keep her distance from humans. She’s learning, however, that treats bring her a little closer each time, slowly building trust with those around her. Amber is discovering the joy of play with other dogs, showing off adorable little skips and hops when she’s truly comfortable. She enjoys the company of dogs both large and small, though she’s more of an observer than an active participant. With her soft coat, she’ll benefit from regular brushing to keep her looking and feeling her best. This sweet, fluffy girl is ready for a patient, loving family who understands her quiet nature and will help her continue blossoming in her new life. Perhaps you’re the one who can give Amber the stable, happy home she’s been waiting for! - - - - - Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Meet Cindy, a gorgeous 54-pound Husky with stunning freckled features and eyes that look like they were painted by a Hollywood makeup artist! Still a bit shy due to her past, Cindy may retreat when first approached, but she’s discovering that humans often come with treats—something she’s definitely warming up to.Outside, Cindy’s playful spirit shines through. In playgroups, she hops and runs with joy, getting along wonderfully with dogs of all energy levels. Whether it’s a lively game of chase or a peaceful sniff-and-stroll, Cindy is happy to join in. She walks well on a leash and would love a family ready to explore the world with her on daily walks. This sweet girl is incredibly food motivated, which will be a great help as she continues to build confidence. Cindy is ready to become the loyal, loving companion you’ve been looking for. If you’re ready for her playful, gentle spirit to be a part of your family, Cindy is waiting to meet you!- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet.
