Story
Akira is a big fur-baby that has been with me since she was a pup!! She is 5 years old (born July 25, 2019) and has been in Colorado her whole life. Unfortunately, life changes require me to downsize and relocate, to which I’d prefer giving Akira the life of attention she deserves. She is a homebody that absolutely LOVES the snow and a spacious yard. She’s been introduced and lived with dogs of all sizes and both male and female and has always done amazingly. She isn’t the most comfortable outside of her home where there’s a high concentration of dogs( dog parks, daycare. Etc.) she’s extremely playful and does well with older children! She has no special diet and is currently on Diamond Naturals dry food. She is a chunker, so those who are active is a plus so she can get daily exercise. Her love is priceless and therefore I am not assessing a rehoming fee. Akira is an amazing companion, and we look forward to meeting you!

Story
Hello, I'm Sahara. I'm a young Husky mix who was found as a stray. My history is a mystery but the person fostering me said I'm a good girl. I do great except for chickens and goats- so no livestock for me. I'm gentle and love attention.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2245022##
