Story
Kota is a handsome fellow! He can be a little unsure when strangers approach too quickly and will do best when given time and space to feel comfortable. Kota may enjoy opportunities for casual recreation with other dogs, and at this time, he's seeking a home without children or with kids at least 10 years of age and if considered for a multi-dog home, we recommend a like-sized dog and a meet at the shelter will be required prior to departure. A home where family members are often present will be best for Kota. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 49.4 Age: 3yrs 10mths 0wks

Story
Gigi is sure to steal the show with her unique look! We anticipate Gigi may take a bit of time to adjust to a new routine, and her ideal family will be patient, supportive, and gentle in how they approach this new friendship. Our volunteers tell us that while she is initially a bit timid when starting out on her walks, but once she's on the leash she begins to relax, walks politely right beside you, without pulling preferring to just enjoy her walks rather than engaging with other nearby dogs. And she very much enjoys fluffy beds and squeaky toys, so be sure to have these ready to make her feel at home.Though Gigi has the skill to casually navigate an interaction with other dogs, she'd really prefer not engaging. Gigi will be placed in a home without children or cats. Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: White Weight: 43.6 Age: 7yrs 8mths 2wks

Story
Faith appears to have missed out on important opportunities for socialization early in life, and she's a bit of a worry wart. She's looking for a quiet, predictable home where she can take her time getting comfortable. New people, new places, and new routines can be overwhelming for her, so she'll need an adopter who understands that trust is something she builds slowly. Because Faith gains confidence from canine friends, she is recommended to live with another well-adjusted dog. She will be placed in a home without children. Story
We adopted Dakota 5 years ago, looking for a companion dog who would be a good protector for our home in New Mexico. He was well trained when we brought him home at 2 years old. He is 7 now. He is reactive to young children and other dogs. We wanted to give him a steady home and we took him to a trainer to get help for his reactivity. He is doing better and he does respond to correction. But he cannot be around young kids. We recently got a small puppy, hoping he would adjust to a younger dog but he has not been able to. He will do best as the only dog. We are about to move and do not have a way to continue to keep the dogs separate. We are looking for a couple or a single person with no kids and no other dogs or cats. Other than his reactivity he is a great dog. He loves to be with people who can be his pack and hang out with him. He is very sweet natured and affectionate. He does vocalize like a husky! He has good health insurance and comes with all supplies including his bed.

Story
Brandy was adopted by us from Canyon City in a small trailer park when she was about 5-6 months old. Shes 2 years now and a husky mix! I’ve been so lucky to have this sweet girl with me through so much! Brandy gets along great with our two cats, friends dogs, and any new family. She can be grumbly but is just cautious and very welcoming and sweet. She does have dietary restrictions (fish kibble only, no meat) and has a resource hoard with water so her intake is monitored during feeding. She has sensitive skin and tends to get rashes during season changes but we keep her fed with an antihistamine once a day. She has been house trained, and did great the first few months, but regardless of being taken out at least 4 times a day she still goes inside. She needs someone who can be home and with her the majority of the day to train, play, and keep company with. I love her dearly but I cannot accommodate her needs for my own job and mental health needs. I hope to find her someone deserving!

Story
Meet Poncho, a remarkable 4.5-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix who’s searching for his forever home. Rescued from a high-kill shelter after his previous owner had to move and couldn’t take him along, Poncho is a unique and lovable companion with a heart of gold. Poncho is a good-natured and sweet dog who does well with middle to large dogs and is incredibly intelligent. He prefers to spend most of his time outside and doesn’t seek out cuddles or furniture, but he shows his affection in his own special ways. His high energy levels and need for mental stimulation mean he thrives with proper exercise and engaging activities. Ideal for someone who works from home, Poncho doesn’t like to be alone and may struggle with separation, especially at first. He can be a bit vocal, giving you an earful as huskies are known to do, but his charming personality and loving nature make him an exceptional companion. Poncho is a special dog who will bring joy and loyalty to the right home. If you’re looking for a unique and devoted friend who’s ready to become a cherished part of your life, Poncho is the one for you.
