Story
Riggs is a 10-12 month old, male, Siberian Husky and boy is he true to his roots. He loves to chase bunnies, has a bit of sass, and has an independent nature. Riggs is dog friendly and seems oddly non-reactive to cats but hasn’t lived directly with one. He’s gentle with kiddos (again, hasn’t lived with them), does well in a secure, plastic crate, seems house trained, and walks pretty well on a leash. He can be a bit skeptical when meeting new people or being introduced to new things, but he’s quick to warm up. He also really enjoys the water (I know, it’s kinda strange for us, too) and does well in the car. He’s a petite young man, around 40 lbs. Although, once he’s filled out and finished growing he should even out around 50-55 lbs. Riggs spent a few months in a small, underfunded, shelter in Texas where he didn’t get the best of nutrition. He experiences some growing pains here and there but he’s getting stronger each and every day! A true husky lovers delight! Fenced in yard required. Riggs is being fostered in Laramie, Wyoming. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/riggs/. Story
Angie! 💎💎 Angie is a beautiful, 2-3 year old, girl with ice blue eyes and a heart of pure gold. This sweet, husky/pit mix joined MHCR as a transfer from a high intake/high kill shelter in Texas. She entered the shelter with her young puppies and after a few days they all passed away. There she was alone and afraid and now facing death row due to lack of space. A human mama heard her plea and offered to take Angie in as her foster. This offer saved her life. Angie quickly grew accustomed to home life. She is well mannered and mellow inside. She loves to snuggle and cuddle. Occasionally she will wrestle with the other canine siblings in her home. Angie is loyal and loving. She will thrive in a home with a fenced in yard, perhaps another dog friend or two, and humans that can provide her plenty of structure and routine so she can continue to grow into her best self. Angie is 45 lbs. Angie is in foster in Aurora, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/angie You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Maya is a 4-year-old Siberian Husky. She is sweet, independent, suuuper chill (especially for a husky), very cat-like and non-destructive. She is VERY lazy, but she still loves fetch. She loves sunbathing and will lay out in the sun for hours. She takes a while to warm up to new people, but once she warms to you, you will be her human. She cannot do doggie day-care. It is too over-stimulating for her. Rover with a consistent human sitter would work perfectly for her. Maya grew up with her human sister, who was born around the time Maya was adopted. They get along great, so Maya is very good with little kids. I adopted Maya because I wanted to help and because I wanted to provide my dog with a friend. Unfortunately, after extensive training, Maya still does not get along with my other dog. Maya has quite an alpha personality, so she should be the only pet in the home. She has high prey drive and will kill any pet rabbits or other small animals. She also does not enjoy dog parks.
