Highlights:- requires a 6 ft fenced in yard- Must be the only dog in the homeMeet Amber, a beautiful 44-pound Siberian Husky with a gentle, shy soul and the fluffiest coat that gives her a supermodel prance as she moves through the play yard. Due to her under-socialized past, Amber is still on the cautious side, preferring to keep her distance from humans. She’s learning, however, that treats bring her a little closer each time, slowly building trust with those around her. With her soft coat, she’ll benefit from regular brushing to keep her looking and feeling her best. This sweet, fluffy girl is ready for a patient, loving family who understands her quiet nature and will help her continue blossoming in her new life. Perhaps you’re the one who can give Amber the stable, happy home she’s been waiting for! - - - - - Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Meet Abby, a sweet and friendly Husky (weighing in at 42 lbs) who was recently rescued by National Mill Dog Rescue. Despite her past, she has an incredible spirit and is always eager to make new human friends. Her true happiness, though, lies in finding the perfect lap to cuddle up in—she’s a natural snuggler who just wants to feel loved and safe.Abby would do best as a solo dog in the home so she gets all the love to herself, but canine companions will be considered on a case-by-case basis with a meeting at the shelter.Abby absolutely adores her walks where she gets to get some energy out as well as explore her surroundings. She does a happy dance when she sees her human friends at the kennel coming to take her out. She is incredibly intelligent and has started mastering all of the puzzle toys we have. This lovely girl is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter with a forever family who will cherish her gentle heart and affectionate nature. Could your lap be the one she’s been waiting for? Story
Zara is a cute young husky mix with a playful and affectionate nature, though she is usually scared of new situations and people. Once she has learned to trust her humans, she's very affectionate and loving with them. She's is great with most dogs and plays with dogs of all sizes at daycare, but can occasionally be dog-selective if the mood hits her. Zara tries to play with the cats in her foster home, but will eventually leave them alone when they don't reciprocate. She already knows sit, down, and automatically sits at doors. Zara's ideal home would be one where she gets regular attention, exercise, and brain stimulation, and lots toys (she likes all manner of toys). Zara would prefer a canine companion to help her learn to navigate new situations. Because of Zara's enthusiastic tendencies, Zara would do best in a home with children over 8yrs of age.
