Story
Sweet Brulee is a beautiful girl with the most amazing coloring. She has a strong personality, very human centric and bonds very quickly with her humans. She walks decent on leash once some of the typical husky energy has been burnt off but could use more leash training and would do best with a very active family. She has a strong prey drive so care should be taken around small animals.  Brulee is treat motived, takes treats very nicely, knows 'sit', ‘shake’, 'down', 'stay' and crate trained. She loves playing with toys and people, but not very interested in other dogs. Brulee would most likely do best as an only dog as she loves all the attention. Anyone looking for a very active but extremely sweet girl as a companion dog, Brulee is your girl!Click here to watch a video of Brulee.      November 4, 2024, 8:30 pm

Story
Bill is a strikingly handsome gentleman that  is ready for a foster or forever home.  He weighs in at 80 lbs. He has high energy but can also be calm. He's a Shepsky that has the best of both breeds! The shepherd in him is guarding and alert, but the husky in him greets people easily. He is crate trained and potty trained. Bill loves to be outdoors and likes other dogs. He will follow you around at home and is very loyal. He likes to play with toys but is a little protective of his toys, enjoys cars rides and is treat motivated.  He is not a barker. Bill is an exceptional boy who is mature, does not jump on you and gentle for his size.   He would do best in a home with a constant human or canine companion, or both!       January 13, 2025, 9:42 am

Story
Jubilee has been living in a foster home and she's really living up to her name!  She is about 12 months old and full of FUN!  This sweetheart of a puppy only weighs 40 lbs. and we don't think she'll get much bigger.   She loves all the dogs and people she meets - and they love her back! She especially loves, loves to play with her 8 month old and 2 yr old foster sisters, for hours! She is also respectful to older dogs.  She's a smart girl that knows basic commands, is potty trained, plus she’s eager to please.  She loves to cuddle when she's sleeping or relaxing, either with humans or other dogs. She's well behaved in public and in restaurants - but is very interested in meeting other dogs too.  She needs some leash training and we're working on that. She's still very full of young puppy energy! Jubilee is 57% Siberian Husky, 23% Australian cattle dog, 9% Alaskan malamute, 3% Samoyed and 3% Chow Chow! All this in a petite and fun sized little girl t hat wants to be your BFF! Click here to watch a video of Jubilee.      January 16, 2025, 4:11 pm

Story
Lilibet  is a sweetheart that's between 2-3 yrs. old and weighs 60 lbs. She has the softest fur and pretty blue eyes! Lili knows basic commands and is very treat motivated. She's potty trained and does well with a leash and harness. Lili loves people! She’s ok around other dogs - but not too interested in them. She will definitely do well as the only dog in your home. Lili came to NorSled with a number of health issues, including untreated skin issues and was severely underweight. Her "before" pictures are so sad but she healed so beautifully! Her issues are now completely under control but do require daily medication. Lili has been with us since September 2022. She is ready for her own human. If you’re looking for a sweet companion, Lilibet is your girl!  Click here to watch a video of Lilibet.      November 4, 2024, 8:30 pm

Mint Chip

Husky Alaskan Malamute

Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Volunteers describe him as playful, happy and great on leash. Favorite things: play fetch and loves water. His playstyle is Rough & Rowdy: involving lots of physical play such as grabbing, holding, and tumbling. It is typically mutual and often noisy. Human analogy: wrestling or rough housing. Socially, he's selective which means he can play with some dogs but not successfully with all dogs. He would do best in a home where he is the only object of his human's affection. Mint Chip is available for adoption at Contra Costa Animal Services in Martinez https://www.contracosta.ca.gov/7885/Available-Dogs

Story
Slate is a stunningly beautiful boy. His creme and strawberry blonde coat is soft like a bunny! Also like a bunny, this boy loves to jump straight into your lap for some kisses. Slate is super playful and funny. The jokester of the litter, he is constantly ready to play and run amuck. Slate is approximately 7 weeks old, born beginning of December, and will soon be ready to join his forever family! An ideal home for Slate would be one that is active and adventurous. This boy wants to see the world and sniff every nook and cranny!  Slate is just starting potty training and crate training but is very eager to please and smart so this process will be a breeze for this boy!  ##2285793##

Story
Not enough can be said about the beauty of this boy. Clay has and amazing red and white coat that is oh-so-soft! His little flopped over ear tips frame the sweetest face and beautiful heterochromic eyes!  Clay is the strong and and silent type. He spends a lot of time sitting and watching his siblings play. When he gets the urge to join, it is very obvious that this boy has the respect of his brothers. He is the biggest of his litter but also the most snuggly. He is quiet and contemplative. Clay will do well in a house with a sibling dog who has a strong personality. A family that knows the breed is ideal as well as a family that is active and adventurous to keep his husky brain entertained!  ##2285792##

Story
Do you have room in your home and heart for a gentle giant?  Meet Theodore, a calm and mild-mannered gentleman.  Theo is approximately 4 to 5 years old and is looking for his forever home.  He is very gentle with humans and would do better in a home with female dogs and of course no cats.  Theodore is absolutely huggable and does well in his crate at night.  He walks well on leash but could always use more training.  He knows the basic commands of sit and down.  He is not a big barker but will alert you if something seems awry.  He would like to be in a home where he can get lots of love and be a part the family       January 19, 2025, 9:50 pm

Story
Meet HIROMI HIROMI was turned into the shelter as a found dog. No one ever came for her. Despite being failed by her former person, this sweetheart remains devoted and loving. After Hiromi’s arrival she was initially timid and lacked confidence. She can still be somewhat apprehensive but she has opened up and trusted us enough to let her true colors shine! She is silly, sensitive, refreshingly affectionate, playful and a free spirit. Her absolute favorite past time is to be showered with love and give it in return. Her gentle, resilient nature is inspiring but not surprising. Hiromi is very communicative by expressing a multitude of emotions with her eyes. Her body language is inviting and she understands how to use it to subtly let you know what’s on her mind. She is also an Akita so stubbornness is part of her DNA! Her ideal adopter should have a calm home environment and be able to provide consistency and a daily routine, where she can continue to expand her horizons. Hiromi gets excited for her daily walks and is a great traveler! She seems non-reactive to other dogs and might do well with a mellow male dog. She is approx 4 yrs old and weighs 57 lbs. She is also crate and house trained. She is ready to pledge her love and devotion! Are you?! Story
Meet TOBI We don't know much about Tobi's past, but his future is very bright. He is a big boy with a heart the size to match. He is a gentle giant with a gregarious, carefree attitude and is eager to learn and experience the world. He is game for adventure and deserves to have that special someone to accompany him in life. Tobi is playful and has a welcoming aura about him. He also has an unabashed, confident side to him. He's just not sure how he ended up here, and we're making sure he never has to wonder that ever again. He is best as an only dog and someone with previous Akita experience is best. Tobi is approximately 5 yrs old, and due to his size should be on a good quality joint supplement. He's only been with us a short time, so will need to gain a few pounds to look his best, but he's already on his way to showing us his beautiful soul.
